Red and swollen eyes, headaches and dizziness, fatigue, and numbness in the hands and feet?

Red and swollen eyes, headaches, dizziness, fatigue, numbness in the hands and feet, and discomfort in the heart—what could be the underlying causes of these symptoms? I have visited many clinics, but none have been able to identify the issue.
During a full-body examination at a union hospital, they mentioned that my heart is enlarged.
Could this be related? Thank you! By the way, I have asthma and have been taking long-term asthma medication.

The symptoms you are experiencing—redness in the eyes, headaches, fatigue, numbness in the limbs, and discomfort in the heart—can be indicative of several underlying medical conditions. Given the complexity of your symptoms and the fact that you have already sought medical attention without a definitive diagnosis, it is crucial to consider a comprehensive approach to understanding your health.

1. Eye Redness and Fatigue: Eye redness can be caused by a variety of factors, including allergies, dry eyes, or infections such as conjunctivitis. Given your history of asthma, it is possible that you may also have allergic conjunctivitis, which can cause redness and discomfort in the eyes. Additionally, prolonged screen time or inadequate rest can lead to eye strain, contributing to fatigue.

2. Headaches: The headaches you are experiencing could be tension-type headaches or migraines. Tension headaches are often associated with stress, fatigue, and muscle tension, while migraines can present with additional symptoms such as nausea or sensitivity to light. The location and intensity of your headaches, as well as any triggers you may have noticed, can help in determining the type of headache.

3. Fatigue: Chronic fatigue can stem from various sources, including sleep disorders, stress, or underlying medical conditions such as anemia or thyroid dysfunction. It is important to evaluate your sleep quality and lifestyle factors that may contribute to your fatigue.

4. Numbness in Limbs: Numbness or tingling sensations in the hands and feet can be caused by nerve compression, poor circulation, or conditions such as diabetes or multiple sclerosis. Given that you have mentioned feeling numbness, it would be prudent to investigate potential neurological causes.
5. Heart Discomfort: The sensation of discomfort in the heart, especially in conjunction with other symptoms, warrants careful evaluation. An enlarged heart (cardiomegaly) can be a sign of various conditions, including hypertension, heart valve disease, or cardiomyopathy. It is essential to follow up with a cardiologist to assess your heart health, especially since you have asthma and are on long-term medication, which may have implications for your cardiovascular system.

6. Asthma and Medication: Long-term use of asthma medications can sometimes lead to side effects that may contribute to your symptoms. For example, certain bronchodilators can cause increased heart rate or palpitations, which might explain your heart discomfort. It is crucial to discuss your medication regimen with your healthcare provider to ensure that it is appropriate for your current health status.

In summary, the combination of your symptoms suggests a multifactorial issue that may involve allergic reactions, neurological concerns, cardiovascular health, and the effects of chronic medication use. It is advisable to seek a multidisciplinary approach, involving an ophthalmologist for your eye symptoms, a neurologist for the numbness and headaches, and a cardiologist for your heart concerns. Additionally, a thorough evaluation of your asthma management plan is essential to ensure that it is not contributing to your overall symptoms.
Keep a detailed record of your symptoms, including when they occur, their intensity, and any potential triggers. This information will be invaluable when discussing your case with healthcare professionals. Your health is paramount, and persistent symptoms should never be overlooked; seeking further evaluation is the right course of action.
