Can people with fatty liver consume vitamin choline?

I am undergoing treatment for elevated liver enzymes, and I do not have hepatitis A or B.
An abdominal ultrasound showed moderate fatty liver, and I have been diagnosed with metabolic hepatitis.
Recently, with the help of my doctor, my liver enzyme levels have stabilized and are gradually decreasing.
Since B vitamins are beneficial for hepatitis patients, I have been taking B vitamins consistently.
Previously, I took a B complex prescribed by the hospital, but now I am taking a commercially available B complex.
The B complex I purchased contains choline, and after researching online, I found that choline has significant effects on the prevention and treatment of fatty liver.
I had previously inquired about lecithin, which is widely sold and contains a large amount of choline.
When I asked my doctor if I could take lecithin, he advised against it, stating that lecithin itself contains fat, and by consuming choline, I would also be ingesting fat.
Now, I have discovered that there are standalone choline supplements available on the market, similar to how B vitamins are sold separately, such as B1 and B6.
This means I would not need to obtain choline from lecithin.
I am unsure if it is safe for me to take this standalone choline supplement.
