Does gaining weight really cause the penis to shrink?

Since graduating from high school and embarking on the path of re-examination, my weight has increased from 78 kg to 87 kg (height 169 cm) in just 9 months, gaining nearly 10 kg.
However, after recently seeing this news, I measured my erect length and found it has decreased from 11 cm to 9.5 cm.
Will it return to normal after losing weight?

Hello, obesity can lead to an increase in fat that surrounds the penis, making it appear shorter.
Theoretically, the size of the penis should not be affected by obesity.
If there are any unclear points, feel free to ask again for further discussion and research.

Weight gain can indeed have an impact on the perceived size of the penis, but it's important to clarify that it does not actually cause the penis to shrink in terms of its anatomical structure. Instead, the changes in appearance are often due to factors such as increased body fat, particularly around the pubic area, which can make the penis appear smaller than it actually is.

When a person gains weight, especially in the abdominal and pubic regions, the fat deposits can obscure the base of the penis. This can lead to a visual illusion where the penis seems shorter or smaller. In your case, the reported change from 11 cm to 9.5 cm may not reflect an actual decrease in size but rather the result of increased fat around the pubic area that makes it less visible.
Moreover, the relationship between weight and erectile function is also significant. Excess body weight can lead to various health issues, including hormonal imbalances, reduced blood flow, and even psychological factors such as decreased self-esteem, all of which can affect erectile function. If the blood flow to the penis is compromised due to obesity-related conditions, this could potentially lead to difficulties in achieving or maintaining an erection, which might also contribute to the perception of a smaller size.

If you are considering losing weight, it is quite possible that as you shed excess fat, particularly from the abdominal area, the base of your penis may become more visible, thus giving the appearance of a larger size. Additionally, weight loss can improve overall health, including cardiovascular health, which is crucial for erectile function.
It's also worth noting that the penis does not actually shrink in size due to weight gain; rather, the surrounding fat can create the illusion of a smaller size. Once weight is lost, many individuals find that their penis appears larger simply because it is more visible.
In terms of your specific situation, if you are able to lose weight healthily through a balanced diet and regular exercise, you may find that your penis appears larger as the fat around your pubic area decreases. However, it's essential to approach weight loss in a sustainable manner, focusing on overall health rather than just aesthetics.
In summary, while weight gain can affect the perceived size of the penis due to fat accumulation, it does not cause a physical reduction in size. Losing weight can help improve the visibility of the penis and enhance overall erectile function, leading to a more satisfying sexual experience. If you have concerns about your weight or sexual health, it may be beneficial to consult with a healthcare professional who can provide personalized advice and support.
