Bleeding after sexual intercourse on the last day of menstruation?

Hello, I would like to ask if it is normal to experience slight bleeding after having sexual intercourse on the last day of menstruation.
I found information online suggesting that this could be due to the pressure on the uterus during intercourse, which may expel any remaining blood.
Is this explanation accurate? We used a condom during intercourse, and this only occurs when we have sex on the last day of my period.
Additionally, I have heard that having sexual intercourse within three days after menstruation increases the risk of cancer.
Is there any basis for this claim, or is it just a rumor? Thank you.

It is normal to experience slight bleeding after engaging in sexual intercourse on the last day of your menstrual period.
Intercourse can stimulate uterine contractions, which may cause any residual blood to be expelled.
Additionally, there is no evidence to support the claim that having sexual intercourse within three days after menstruation increases the risk of cancer.
Sincerely, Lu Li-Cheng.

Light bleeding after sex on the last day of your period can be a common occurrence and is often considered normal. When menstruation is ending, the uterine lining is shedding, and there may still be some residual blood. Engaging in sexual intercourse during this time can indeed cause some of that remaining blood to be expelled, which may result in light bleeding or spotting. This is typically due to the physical stimulation of the cervix or uterus during intercourse, which can lead to the release of any remaining menstrual blood.

It's important to note that the presence of light bleeding after sex, especially at the end of your menstrual period, is usually not a cause for concern. However, if the bleeding is accompanied by pain, discomfort, or persists beyond a few days, it would be advisable to consult a healthcare professional to rule out any underlying issues such as infections, cervical irritation, or other gynecological conditions.

Regarding the claim that having sex within three days after the end of your period increases the risk of cancer, this is largely unfounded and appears to be more of a myth than a scientifically supported fact. There is no substantial evidence linking sexual activity shortly after menstruation to an increased risk of cancer. Cancer risk is influenced by a variety of factors including genetics, lifestyle choices (such as smoking and diet), and environmental exposures, rather than the timing of sexual activity in relation to the menstrual cycle.

In summary, light bleeding after sex on the last day of your period is generally normal and can be attributed to the expulsion of residual blood. The idea that sexual activity shortly after menstruation increases cancer risk lacks scientific backing and should be viewed with skepticism. If you have ongoing concerns about your menstrual cycle or sexual health, it is always best to seek advice from a qualified healthcare provider who can offer personalized guidance based on your specific situation.
