Can I get pregnant?
Hello, I would like to ask if it is possible to get pregnant without ejaculation or sexual intercourse.
My boyfriend and I engaged in mutual touching for three days, and I found conflicting information about whether the bulbourethral gland contains sperm (he did not have any nocturnal emissions or residual semen during those three days).
It seems that some pre-ejaculatory fluid may have come into contact with the vaginal opening.
In addition to mutual touching, I performed oral sex on him, and then we kissed, after which he performed oral sex on me.
Is it possible that the bulbourethral fluid could have entered the vagina this way? We are both students and cannot afford to get pregnant.
Could you please advise if pregnancy is possible and what emergency measures we can take? Thank you.

Hello, based on your description, the chances of pregnancy are very low due to the lack of motile sperm.
There have been no confirmed reports of pregnancy under such circumstances.
However, as long as there are motile sperm present in the vagina during the ovulation period, regardless of the method of exposure, there remains a possibility of pregnancy.
It is still advisable to take appropriate contraceptive measures during sexual activity to prevent unintended pregnancies and also to protect against sexually transmitted infections.
Thank you! Wishing you safety and health.

Yes, it is possible to become pregnant without intercourse, primarily due to the presence of pre-ejaculate fluid, also known as pre-cum. This fluid is produced by the Cowper's glands (bulbourethral glands) and can contain sperm, although typically in much lower concentrations than ejaculate. The risk of pregnancy from pre-ejaculate is a topic of considerable debate, but it is important to understand the mechanisms involved.
When a male is sexually aroused, the Cowper's glands secrete pre-ejaculate fluid to lubricate the urethra and neutralize any acidity that may be present from urine. This fluid can potentially carry sperm if there are residual sperm in the urethra from a previous ejaculation. If your boyfriend has not ejaculated for three days, the likelihood of significant sperm presence in the pre-ejaculate is reduced, but it is not zero. If he had previously ejaculated and did not urinate before engaging in sexual activity, there is a possibility that some sperm could remain in the urethra and be present in the pre-ejaculate.
In your case, if the pre-ejaculate came into contact with the vaginal opening, there is a theoretical risk of pregnancy, albeit a low one. The act of mutual masturbation, oral sex, and kissing does not typically lead to pregnancy, but if any sperm-containing fluid were to be transferred to the vaginal area, it could potentially lead to conception.
To assess your risk of pregnancy, consider the following factors:
1. Timing of Ovulation: If you are in your fertile window (usually around the time of ovulation, which occurs about 14 days before your next expected period), the risk of pregnancy increases.
2. Sperm Viability: Sperm can live inside the female reproductive tract for up to five days, so if you are close to ovulation, the risk is higher.
3. Contact with Vaginal Area: If pre-ejaculate came into direct contact with the vaginal opening, there is a potential risk of sperm entering the vagina.
If you are concerned about the possibility of pregnancy, there are a few steps you can take:
- Emergency Contraception: If you are worried about the risk of pregnancy, consider using emergency contraception (like Plan B) as soon as possible. It is most effective when taken within 72 hours after unprotected intercourse or potential exposure to sperm.
- Pregnancy Testing: If your period is late or you experience symptoms of pregnancy, take a home pregnancy test for confirmation.
In the future, if you wish to avoid pregnancy, consider discussing reliable contraceptive methods with your partner. Options include condoms, hormonal birth control, or other forms of contraception that can help prevent unintended pregnancies.
In conclusion, while the risk of pregnancy from pre-ejaculate is relatively low, it is not impossible. Understanding your cycle and using protection can help mitigate this risk. If you have further concerns or questions, consider consulting with a healthcare provider for personalized advice and guidance.
