If you notice small white bumps appearing at the base of the penis, it could be a condition known as pearly penile papules, which are harmless and common. However, it's important to consult a healthcare professional for an accurate diagnosis and to rule out other possible conditions such as folliculitis, genital warts, or other skin issues?
Hello! I am 18 years old and have no sexual experience.
I have some fine hair on my genital area, and there are a few small white bumps at the junction of the base of my penis and scrotum.
They are not painful or itchy.
I am unsure if these bumps are due to a bacterial infection caused by the hair growth or if there is another reason they persist.
I have also squeezed these bumps with my hands.
Some of them released a white, semi-solid, dry substance similar to what comes out of a pimple.
Some have disappeared after squeezing, while others have shrunk, and I am not sure why.
Additionally, could you please explain what "cauliflower" symptoms are?

Based on your description, these small bumps likely belong to the sebaceous glands and do not pose any particular issue.
As for genital warts, they are a type of viral infection that typically results from sexual contact and resemble cauliflower.
Their size may increase, and their number may multiply.
If genital warts are present, the most common treatment currently is electrosurgery.

Understanding white bumps on the penis can be a source of concern for many young men, especially when they are experiencing changes in their genital area. Based on your description, it sounds like you may be observing normal anatomical structures or benign conditions rather than a serious health issue.
Firstly, the white bumps you are seeing could be a variety of things. One common cause is Pearly Penile Papules, which are small, harmless bumps that typically appear around the corona of the glans (the head of the penis). They are a normal anatomical variant and do not require treatment. Another possibility is Fordyce spots, which are small, painless, pale bumps that are sebaceous glands that are visible through the skin. They are also completely normal and harmless.
If the bumps are more pronounced and resemble acne, they could be folliculitis, which is an inflammation of the hair follicles often caused by bacteria or irritation. This can occur in areas where hair grows, including the genital region. It's important to avoid squeezing or popping these bumps, as this can lead to irritation, infection, or scarring.
Regarding your concern about potential bacterial infection due to hair growth, it's worth noting that while ingrown hairs can sometimes lead to bumps or cysts, they are usually not a cause for alarm unless accompanied by pain, swelling, or discharge. If the bumps are not painful or itchy, this is generally a good sign.
You mentioned that some of the bumps have a white, semi-solid substance that can be expressed when squeezed. This could indicate a clogged sebaceous gland or a small cyst, which can occur in various parts of the body, including the genital area. Again, these are typically benign unless they become infected or inflamed.
As for your question about "菜花" (cauliflower), this term is often used colloquially to refer to genital warts, which are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV). Genital warts can appear as small, flesh-colored or white bumps that may resemble cauliflower. They can be itchy or uncomfortable and are typically transmitted through sexual contact. If you suspect that you may have genital warts or any other sexually transmitted infection (STI), it is crucial to consult a healthcare provider for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
In summary, while the white bumps you are experiencing are likely benign, it is always best to consult with a healthcare professional for a thorough examination and peace of mind. They can provide you with a definitive diagnosis and recommend any necessary treatment options. Remember, maintaining good hygiene and avoiding irritation in the genital area can help prevent many common issues. If you have any further concerns or if the bumps change in appearance, size, or if you develop any new symptoms, do not hesitate to seek medical advice.
