Menstrual issues?
My period was supposed to start last Wednesday, but recently I've only had a little bit of light spotting, and the flow is very minimal.
I had intercourse with my boyfriend on August 20 and August 22.
With the start of college, I've been staying up late and frequently eating ice cream.
On September 12, I used two different pregnancy tests, and the results were negative.
Could this be related to my lifestyle changes, or is there a possibility of pregnancy?

Hello, based on your description of the "bleeding" situation, it does not seem to be a normal menstrual phenomenon, so it is not possible to determine if you are truly menstruating.
I recommend that you consult a gynecologist to arrange for urine tests, ultrasound, or blood tests to determine if you are pregnant or if the irregular bleeding is caused by hormonal imbalances.
Thank you! Wishing you peace and health.

Irregular periods can be a source of concern for many women, especially when they are trying to conceive or suspect they might be pregnant. Based on your description, it seems you are experiencing lighter-than-normal menstrual bleeding, which could be attributed to several factors, including lifestyle changes, stress, or hormonal imbalances.
Firstly, it’s important to understand that menstrual cycles can be affected by various external factors. Stress from academic pressures, changes in sleep patterns, and dietary habits (like consuming cold foods) can all contribute to irregularities in your cycle. The body is quite sensitive to changes in routine, and these factors can lead to lighter periods or spotting rather than a full menstrual flow.
Regarding your sexual activity on August 20 and 22, if you had unprotected intercourse during your fertile window, there is a possibility of pregnancy. However, since you mentioned that you took two pregnancy tests on September 12 and both were negative, it is less likely that you are pregnant, especially if the tests were used correctly and within the appropriate time frame after your missed period.
The light bleeding you are experiencing could also be a sign of implantation bleeding, which occurs when a fertilized egg attaches to the lining of the uterus. However, this typically happens around a week before your expected period, and since you tested negative, it is less likely to be the case here.
If your periods continue to be irregular or if you experience any other concerning symptoms, such as severe pain, excessive bleeding, or significant changes in your menstrual cycle, it would be advisable to consult a healthcare professional. They can perform a thorough evaluation, including blood tests and possibly an ultrasound, to rule out any underlying conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), thyroid issues, or other hormonal imbalances.
In terms of lifestyle adjustments, maintaining a balanced diet, managing stress through relaxation techniques, and ensuring adequate sleep can help regulate your menstrual cycle. Regular exercise can also be beneficial, as it helps to balance hormones and reduce stress levels.
In summary, while irregular periods can be concerning, they are often influenced by lifestyle factors. Given your negative pregnancy tests, it is likely that your current symptoms are related to these factors rather than an indication of pregnancy. However, if irregularities persist, seeking medical advice is the best course of action to ensure your reproductive health is in check.
