Regarding the side effects of Kankun 1.25?

Hello, pharmacist.
I apologize for the interruption.
I previously sought medical attention due to heart discomfort.
After undergoing an exercise electrocardiogram, which showed some signs of hypoxia at the 9-minute mark, my doctor prescribed Aspirin and Concor 1.25 for about a month.
I haven't experienced any discomfort, and my daily blood pressure and heart rate measurements have been within normal ranges.
Three days ago, I returned for a follow-up and received a prescription for another two months.
However, I recently researched the side effects of Concor 1.25, which include difficulty breathing, cold extremities, mood depression, shortness of breath, bradycardia, sexual dysfunction, dizziness, and headaches.
Lately, I've noticed that when I carry heavy items or walk up to the sixth floor, my breathing becomes quicker and shorter (without wheezing), and my heart rate increases slightly (around just over 100, as measured by an app).
However, after resting for two to three minutes, my heart rate returns to normal (around 60-70).
Could this situation be caused by the medication's side effects? Thank you for your response.
I appreciate it.

Kanken 1.25, known generically as Bisoprolol, is a beta-blocker commonly prescribed for conditions such as hypertension, angina, and heart failure. Understanding its side effects is crucial for patients, especially those with pre-existing heart conditions or those who are new to this medication.

Side Effects of Kanken 1.25 (Bisoprolol)
1. Common Side Effects:
- Fatigue
- Dizziness
- Cold extremities
- Bradycardia (slow heart rate)
- Hypotension (low blood pressure)
- Gastrointestinal disturbances
2. Serious Side Effects:
- Severe allergic reactions
- Heart block
- Worsening of heart failure symptoms
- Respiratory issues, particularly in patients with asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)

Your Symptoms and Concerns
You mentioned experiencing increased heart rate and shortness of breath during physical activities like moving goods or climbing stairs. While these symptoms can be concerning, they may not necessarily indicate a direct side effect of Kanken 1.25. Here are some considerations:
- Increased Heart Rate: A heart rate of over 100 beats per minute during exertion can be a normal physiological response to physical activity. However, if you notice this occurring at rest or with minimal exertion, it may warrant further investigation.

- Shortness of Breath: If you are experiencing shortness of breath that is new or worsening, it is essential to differentiate whether this is due to the medication or an underlying heart condition. Given your history of heart issues and the recent exercise stress test indicating some oxygen deprivation, it is advisable to consult your healthcare provider for a thorough evaluation.

Medication Interactions and Precautions
You mentioned that you are also taking aspirin. Generally, there are no significant interactions between aspirin and Bisoprolol, but it is always best to inform your healthcare provider of all medications you are taking, including over-the-counter drugs and supplements.

Recommendations
1. Monitor Symptoms: Keep a detailed log of your symptoms, including when they occur, their severity, and any associated activities. This information will be valuable for your healthcare provider.

2. Consult Your Doctor: Given your concerns about shortness of breath and increased heart rate, it is crucial to discuss these symptoms with your doctor. They may want to perform additional tests, such as an echocardiogram or a Holter monitor, to assess your heart's function and rhythm more closely.

3. Lifestyle Modifications: Consider incorporating gentle exercises, such as walking or stretching, into your routine to improve cardiovascular health without overexerting yourself. Additionally, maintaining a balanced diet and managing stress can contribute positively to your heart health.

4. Educate Yourself: Understanding your medication and its potential side effects can empower you to manage your health better. Always feel free to ask your healthcare provider questions about your treatment plan.

Conclusion
While Kanken 1.25 can have side effects, your symptoms may also be related to your underlying heart condition or the physical demands you are placing on your body. It is essential to maintain open communication with your healthcare provider to ensure that your treatment plan is appropriate and effective for your specific health needs. Regular follow-ups and monitoring will help manage your condition and any potential side effects from your medications.
