White granules and acne?
There is a large bump on the penis that hurts when pressed or squeezed.
Could it be a pimple? Additionally, during cleaning, I noticed white particles in the gap between the glans and the shaft of the penis that won't wash away.
Is that smegma? (I am still a virgin.)

Dahua: Hello, you may be experiencing folliculitis or seborrheic dermatitis, and there is also a possibility of a concurrent bacterial infection.
The white substance could be smegma or other issues.
You can try to gently examine it.

When it comes to painful bumps on the penis and the presence of white particles, it is essential to approach the situation with a clear understanding of potential causes and appropriate medical terminology.
Firstly, the painful bump you described could be a variety of conditions. One common possibility is a sebaceous cyst, which can occur when a sebaceous gland becomes blocked. These cysts are usually painless, but if they become inflamed or infected, they can cause pain and discomfort. Another possibility is a condition known as folliculitis, which is the inflammation of hair follicles that can lead to painful bumps, often resembling acne. Additionally, sexually transmitted infections (STIs) such as herpes or genital warts can also present as painful lesions on the penis. Given that you mentioned the bump is painful when pressed, it is advisable to consult a healthcare professional for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
Regarding the white particles you found in the area between the glans (the head of the penis) and the shaft, this could indeed be smegma, which is a combination of dead skin cells, oils, and other bodily fluids that can accumulate under the foreskin in uncircumcised males. Smegma is generally harmless but can lead to irritation or infection if not cleaned regularly. It is important to maintain proper hygiene to prevent the buildup of smegma, which can cause discomfort and potentially lead to infections.
As a virgin, it is also worth noting that the presence of these symptoms does not necessarily indicate an STI, especially if you have not engaged in sexual activity. However, any new or unusual symptoms in the genital area should be evaluated by a healthcare provider to rule out any underlying conditions.
In summary, while the painful bump could be a sebaceous cyst, folliculitis, or another condition, the white particles are likely smegma. It is crucial to maintain good hygiene and consult a healthcare professional for a thorough examination and diagnosis. They may perform a physical examination and possibly recommend tests to determine the exact nature of the bump and any necessary treatment. Remember, early intervention is key to managing any health concerns effectively.
