Red spots appearing on the upper and lower limbs that are neither painful nor itchy?

I suddenly developed some red spots on my upper and lower limbs.
They are distinct, not raised, bright red, and the size of pinholes.
I know these are cherry angiomas.
I consulted a dermatologist who said it was urticaria! However, the areas that are itchy do not have any rashes or red spots, while the areas with red spots are not itchy.
This makes me quite anxious.
When I press on some of the red spots, they disappear, but some do not! I also consulted a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner who said I have excessive dampness in my body! For the past two days, my bowel movements have been watery! I do not have a fever or body aches, but occasionally my body feels itchy.
What concerns me the most is a row of five small red spots on my arm...
slightly larger than pinholes.
What should I do to make the red spots disappear?

Without actually seeing the lesion, it cannot be confirmed.
If it is very bothersome, it is recommended to have a dermatologist examine it to determine the issue.

Understanding non-itchy red spots on the arms and legs can be concerning, especially when they appear suddenly and without accompanying symptoms like itching or pain. Based on your description, it seems you have observed small, distinct, bright red spots that resemble cherry angiomas, which are benign growths of small blood vessels. However, you mentioned that a dermatologist suggested they might be hives (urticaria), which typically present with raised, itchy welts rather than flat red spots.

Given that the spots you are experiencing are not itchy and do not seem to change with pressure (some fade while others remain), it is important to consider several potential causes:
1. Cherry Angiomas: These are common benign vascular lesions that can appear on the skin, especially as people age. They are usually harmless and do not require treatment unless they become bothersome or for cosmetic reasons.

2. Petechiae: These are tiny red or purple spots that occur due to bleeding under the skin. They can be caused by various factors, including minor trauma, certain medications, or underlying health conditions. If you notice an increase in these spots or if they are accompanied by other symptoms, it is essential to seek medical advice.

3. Allergic Reactions: While you mentioned that the spots are not itchy, some allergic reactions can manifest as red spots without itching. If you have recently changed your diet, started new medications, or been exposed to new environmental factors, this could be a possibility.

4. Infections: Certain viral infections can cause non-itchy red spots on the skin. If you have experienced any other symptoms, such as fever or fatigue, it would be wise to consult a healthcare provider.

5. Dermatological Conditions: Conditions such as eczema or psoriasis can sometimes present with red spots that may not itch immediately. A dermatologist can provide a more accurate diagnosis based on a physical examination.

6. Internal Factors: You mentioned that a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner suggested that you have excess dampness in your body, which could be a reflection of your digestive health. Loose stools can indicate gastrointestinal issues, which might also contribute to skin manifestations.
To address your concerns and potentially reduce the appearance of these red spots, consider the following steps:
- Consult a Dermatologist: Since you have already seen a dermatologist, it may be beneficial to seek a second opinion if your symptoms persist or worsen. A thorough examination and possibly a biopsy may be necessary to rule out any serious conditions.

- Monitor Symptoms: Keep track of any changes in the spots, including their size, color, and any new symptoms that may arise. This information can be valuable for your healthcare provider.

- Maintain Good Skin Care: Use gentle, fragrance-free moisturizers to keep your skin hydrated. Avoid harsh soaps or irritants that may exacerbate skin conditions.

- Diet and Hydration: Ensure you are consuming a balanced diet rich in vitamins and minerals, particularly vitamin C and K, which are important for skin health. Staying well-hydrated can also support overall skin condition.

- Address Digestive Health: If you are experiencing frequent loose stools, consider consulting a healthcare provider to evaluate your digestive health. Dietary adjustments, probiotics, or other treatments may help restore balance.

- Avoid Self-Diagnosis: While it’s tempting to research symptoms online, it’s crucial to rely on professional medical advice for accurate diagnosis and treatment.

In conclusion, while non-itchy red spots can be benign, it is essential to monitor your symptoms and consult healthcare professionals for a thorough evaluation. Understanding the underlying cause is key to determining the appropriate treatment and ensuring your peace of mind.
