Injury to the foreskin resulting in constriction?

Hello doctor, I have an issue with excessive foreskin.
There are no problems when I retract it before an erection, but it feels a bit tight when I try to retract it after an erection, although it's not severe.
During a previous sexual encounter, I accidentally pushed too hard, which caused some injury and tightening of the foreskin.
Now, there is a white ring (the tightened area) that makes retraction difficult.
However, I can still retract it for cleaning when not erect (it's not painful, but it becomes a bit challenging when erect).
What treatment options are available?

Hello, the quickest way is to surgically open the narrowed area.
Additionally, local topical treatments can be used.
Patience is required.
If things go well, you may see initial results in about six months.
If you have any further questions or need clarification, feel free to ask, and we can discuss and research together.
Please remember that online responses should only be used as a reference; it is essential to seek medical care at a healthcare facility when necessary.

Tightened foreskin, or phimosis, can occur after an injury, leading to discomfort and difficulty retracting the foreskin, especially during an erection. Given your description, it seems that the injury has caused some scarring or tightening of the foreskin, which is common in such cases. Here are some treatment options and considerations for your situation:
1. Topical Steroid Creams: One of the first-line treatments for phimosis is the application of topical corticosteroids. These creams can help reduce inflammation and promote skin elasticity, making it easier to retract the foreskin. You would typically apply the cream to the affected area for a few weeks, as directed by your healthcare provider.

2. Gentle Stretching Exercises: Along with topical treatments, gentle stretching of the foreskin can help improve its elasticity. This should be done carefully to avoid further injury or pain. You can do this during bathing when the skin is more pliable. Gradually and gently pulling back the foreskin can help increase its flexibility over time.

3. Surgical Options: If conservative treatments do not yield satisfactory results, or if the phimosis is causing significant discomfort or complications, surgical options may be considered. The two most common procedures are:
- Preputioplasty: This is a less invasive procedure that involves making small incisions in the foreskin to relieve tightness without removing the foreskin entirely.

- Circumcision: This is the complete removal of the foreskin and is often recommended for severe cases of phimosis or recurrent infections. It is a more definitive solution but comes with its own set of considerations, including recovery time and potential complications.

4. Consultation with a Urologist: Given the nature of your symptoms and the injury, it would be wise to consult a urologist. They can provide a thorough examination and recommend the most appropriate treatment based on the severity of your condition and your personal preferences.

5. Hygiene and Care: Maintaining proper hygiene is crucial, especially if the foreskin is difficult to retract. Ensure that you clean the area gently to prevent infections. If you notice any signs of infection, such as increased redness, swelling, or discharge, seek medical attention promptly.

6. Avoiding Further Injury: Be mindful during sexual activity to avoid any actions that could exacerbate the condition. Using lubrication can help reduce friction and discomfort during intercourse.

In summary, your treatment options range from conservative measures like topical steroids and stretching exercises to surgical interventions if necessary. It is essential to address this issue with a healthcare professional who can guide you through the best course of action tailored to your specific situation. Remember that while it may be uncomfortable now, many individuals successfully manage similar conditions with appropriate treatment.
