Is it permissible to drink water or consume other foods within two hours after a meal?


Hello Doctor: I have type 2 diabetes and I am currently 5 weeks pregnant.
My doctor instructed me to check my blood sugar four times tomorrow.
Is it okay if I drink water or "caffeine-free, unsweetened rooibos tea" during the 2-hour period after eating? Can I drink water or tea or eat anything else during those 2 hours? I've noticed that whenever I drink water or rooibos tea, my blood sugar level is below 120 after 2 hours.
Is this practice inaccurate? Should I refrain from eating or drinking anything for 2 hours after a meal? Thank you, Doctor.
