Is it pearly penile papules?
I have three small yellow bumps on my glans.
They are not painful or itchy, and they are located about three-quarters of the way back on the glans (a little past the halfway point).
There are no other symptoms.
I have not engaged in any sexual activity.
Could this be pearly penile papules? I am very anxious because I read online that pearly papules usually appear on the coronal sulcus, so what could this be? I am worried and wondering if I need to see a doctor.
Please advise.
Thank you.

Dear Patient,
Thank you for reaching out with your concerns regarding the small yellow bumps you’ve noticed on your glans penis. Based on your description, it sounds like you may be experiencing a condition known as Pearly Penile Papules (PPP). Let’s delve into what this condition is, its characteristics, and whether you should seek medical attention.
Pearly Penile Papules are small, benign growths that typically appear around the corona of the glans penis. They are usually white or yellowish in color and can vary in number, often appearing in rows. While they are commonly found at the corona, they can also appear slightly further back on the shaft, which aligns with your observation of the bumps being located about three-quarters of the way down the glans. Importantly, these papules are completely harmless and are not associated with any sexually transmitted infections (STIs) or other medical conditions.
PPP is a normal anatomical variant and is considered a natural occurrence in many men. They do not cause any pain, itching, or discomfort, which is consistent with your experience. The exact cause of Pearly Penile Papules is not well understood, but they are thought to be related to the normal development of the skin and are not a sign of any underlying health issue.
Given that you have not engaged in sexual activity and the bumps are asymptomatic, it is unlikely that they are a cause for concern. However, it is understandable to feel anxious about any new growths on your body, especially in such a sensitive area. If the papules are causing you distress or if you notice any changes in their appearance, such as increased size, color change, or if they become painful, it would be prudent to consult a healthcare professional. A dermatologist or urologist can provide a definitive diagnosis and reassurance.
In some cases, individuals may seek treatment for Pearly Penile Papules for cosmetic reasons. Treatments can include laser therapy or cryotherapy, but these are typically not necessary unless the individual desires removal for personal reasons.
In summary, based on your description, it is likely that you are experiencing Pearly Penile Papules, which are benign and not a cause for concern. However, if you have any lingering doubts or if your symptoms change, please do not hesitate to seek medical advice. It’s always better to have peace of mind regarding your health.
Take care, and I hope this information helps alleviate your concerns.
Best regards.
