Hello: If the incision is made on the inner side of the eyelid, please refrain from wearing contact lenses temporarily.
If the incision is made on the outer side of the eyelid, wearing contact lenses is permissible.
However, you should not apply any medication while wearing contact lenses.
At Taiwan E-Hospital Puzi, the ophthalmology department is open Monday to Friday from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and Wednesday afternoons from 1:00 PM to 4:30 PM.
Online responses are for reference only; it is necessary to seek medical attention at a healthcare facility.
We hope to have the opportunity to serve you.

When it comes to wearing contact lenses after using AHC Eye Drops (or any eye drops for that matter), especially in the context of treating styes, there are several important considerations to keep in mind.

Firstly, AHC Eye Drops, which contain an active ingredient that helps in reducing inflammation and discomfort associated with styes, may have specific instructions regarding the use of contact lenses. Generally, it is advisable to avoid wearing contact lenses while using any medicated eye drops, particularly those aimed at treating infections or inflammation. This is primarily because contact lenses can trap the medication and potentially lead to irritation or an adverse reaction. Additionally, wearing contact lenses can hinder the healing process, as they may prevent the eye from receiving adequate oxygen and moisture.

After applying AHC Eye Drops, it is typically recommended to wait at least 15 to 30 minutes before putting in your contact lenses. This allows the medication to be absorbed properly and reduces the risk of the drops being washed away or causing discomfort when the lenses are inserted. However, the best practice is to consult with your eye care professional for personalized advice based on your specific situation.

Moreover, if you have recently had a stye, it is crucial to ensure that the stye has fully resolved before resuming the use of contact lenses. Styes are often caused by bacterial infections, and wearing contact lenses during this time can increase the risk of further irritation or infection. Your eye care provider will be able to assess the healing of the stye and determine when it is safe to resume wearing contact lenses.

In addition to the above, here are some general tips for managing eye health while using eye drops for styes:
1. Hygiene: Always wash your hands before applying eye drops or handling contact lenses. This helps to prevent introducing bacteria to your eyes.

2. Follow Instructions: Adhere to the instructions provided by your eye care professional regarding the use of eye drops and the timeline for resuming contact lens wear.

3. Monitor Symptoms: Pay attention to any changes in your symptoms. If you experience increased redness, pain, or discharge, it may indicate that the stye is not healing properly, and you should seek further evaluation.

4. Consider Alternatives: If you find that wearing contact lenses is uncomfortable or if you have frequent styes, you might want to discuss with your eye care provider about switching to glasses temporarily or exploring different types of contact lenses that may be more suitable for your eyes.

5. Regular Check-ups: Schedule regular eye exams to monitor your eye health, especially if you have a history of styes or other eye conditions.

In conclusion, while it may be possible to wear contact lenses after using AHC Eye Drops for styes, it is essential to prioritize your eye health and follow the guidance of your eye care professional. They can provide the best recommendations based on your individual circumstances and ensure that you are taking the right steps towards recovery.
