Unpleasant Odor After Urination: Is It Linked to Masturbation? - Urology

After urination, there is a foul-smelling liquid that comes out?

I started masturbating last year, but in the past few months, I've noticed that after urinating, if I apply slight pressure to the base of my penis, a foul-smelling fluid comes out.
This happens when I sit down after using the restroom at school, and I can smell it myself.
I also feel like I'm not completely emptying my bladder.
I visited a doctor, but he said it's due to not drinking enough water.
Could this situation be caused by masturbation? P.S.
I used to masturbate once a day, but now I usually don't do it on weekdays, although I might do it two or three times on weekends.
I'm not sure if that's too much.
Thank you, Dr.
Lee!

Frequent self-defense indicates a loss of balance in life, which is generally not good.
In such cases, it is advisable to consult a urologist for an examination.

More Info

Unpleasant odor after urination can be concerning, and it’s understandable to seek answers regarding its potential causes. Based on your description, it seems that you are experiencing a foul smell after urination, especially when pressure is applied to the bladder area. You also mentioned feelings of incomplete urination and that a doctor attributed this to insufficient hydration.
Firstly, it’s important to clarify that masturbation itself is not directly linked to changes in urine odor. The act of masturbation does not inherently cause urinary issues or changes in urine characteristics. However, certain behaviors associated with masturbation, such as dehydration or changes in hygiene practices, could potentially contribute to urinary symptoms.

The odor in urine can be influenced by several factors, including diet, hydration levels, and underlying medical conditions. Foods such as asparagus, garlic, and certain spices can alter the smell of urine. Dehydration can lead to concentrated urine, which often has a stronger odor. If you are not drinking enough fluids, your urine may become more concentrated, leading to a more pungent smell.
In your case, since you mentioned that you have been advised to drink more water, it would be beneficial to increase your fluid intake. Aim for at least 8-10 glasses of water a day, or more if you are physically active. This can help dilute your urine and may reduce any unpleasant odors.

The sensation of incomplete urination can also be a symptom of various conditions, including urinary tract infections (UTIs), bladder issues, or prostate problems in males. Although you mentioned that a doctor did not find any infections, if the symptoms persist or worsen, it may be worthwhile to seek a second opinion or further evaluation. A urinalysis or ultrasound may help rule out any underlying issues.

Additionally, if you are experiencing any pain, discomfort, or changes in urinary habits (such as increased frequency or urgency), these are important symptoms to discuss with a healthcare provider. They can provide a more thorough examination and possibly recommend treatment options.

Regarding your masturbation frequency, it’s generally considered a normal activity, and the frequency varies widely among individuals. If you feel that it is not interfering with your daily life, responsibilities, or relationships, it is likely within a normal range. However, if you have concerns about your habits or if they are causing distress, it may be helpful to speak with a healthcare professional or a counselor.

In summary, the unpleasant odor after urination is likely not directly linked to masturbation but could be influenced by hydration levels and possibly other underlying factors. Increasing your water intake is a good first step, and if symptoms persist, further medical evaluation may be necessary. Always feel free to reach out to a healthcare provider for personalized advice and support.
