Is the pregnancy terminated?

Hello doctor, we had unprotected intercourse at the end of December, and the next morning we took emergency contraception.
I had my period on January 10th (which was heavier than usual), and then again on January 28th (normal flow) and February 28th (also normal flow).
We took pregnancy tests on the 7th, 14th, 18th, and 12th of March, and all five tests showed a single negative line.
Doctor, can we rule out the possibility of pregnancy? Is this considered clear?

ast, 10~19 year old female. Ask Date: 2016/03/17

More Info

Based on the information provided, it seems that you have taken multiple pregnancy tests after having unprotected intercourse and subsequently taking emergency contraception. You have also experienced normal menstrual cycles following the incident, which is a positive sign.
To address your question about ruling out pregnancy after multiple negative tests, it is important to consider a few key points:
1. Timing of Tests: Pregnancy tests are most accurate when taken after a missed period. Since you have had normal menstrual cycles following the intercourse, it is likely that you are not pregnant. The tests you conducted on the 7th, 14th, and 18th days after the incident, as well as on March 12, would have been well-timed, especially if they were done after your expected period.

2. Emergency Contraception: The emergency contraception you took is designed to prevent ovulation or fertilization of an egg. It is most effective when taken as soon as possible after unprotected intercourse. Since you took the emergency contraceptive the day after the incident, it significantly reduces the likelihood of pregnancy.

3. Menstrual Cycle: The fact that you have had two normal menstrual cycles (on January 10 and January 28) after the incident further supports the conclusion that you are not pregnant. Regular menstrual cycles indicate that your body has returned to its normal hormonal balance, which is typically disrupted during pregnancy.

4. Accuracy of Tests: Home pregnancy tests are generally very reliable when used correctly. If you followed the instructions on the test and received negative results, it is reasonable to conclude that you are not pregnant. However, if you have any lingering doubts or symptoms that concern you, consulting with a healthcare provider for a blood test can provide additional reassurance.

5. Symptoms and Concerns: If you are experiencing any unusual symptoms, such as persistent nausea, fatigue, or any other signs that are atypical for you, it may be worth discussing these with a healthcare professional. While these symptoms can be related to various factors, including stress or hormonal changes, they can also warrant further investigation.

In conclusion, based on the information you provided, it is reasonable to rule out pregnancy given the normal menstrual cycles and multiple negative tests. However, if you have any concerns or if your symptoms persist, it is always best to consult with a healthcare provider for personalized advice and peace of mind. They can offer further testing or evaluations if necessary.
