Menstruation has always been regular, but it has been delayed by 10 days and there is now bleeding?
Hello doctor, my menstrual cycle has always been regular, usually arriving one or two days early.
Last month, my period was from March 18 to March 21.
After my period ended, I had several instances of sexual intercourse with a condom.
On April 11, I experienced dizziness, nausea, and fever for two days, which seemed like cold symptoms.
I took cold medicine and Riluzole.
According to my previous records, taking these medications should not cause a delay.
My period was expected to arrive in mid-April, but it was delayed by 10 days.
On the evening of April 24, I took a pregnancy test and saw one line after five minutes.
An hour later, I checked the test again and noticed a faint second line.
On the morning of April 25, I tested again and saw only one line, and an hour later, it was still one line.
Today, April 27, which is the 11th day, I had a little bleeding at noon and a feeling of dull pain in my lower abdomen.
Is it possible that this is early pregnancy bleeding, or is it just a delayed period?

What you need is not medical advice but rather a refresher on sexual health education.
For such questions, it is recommended to refer to the National Health Service's "Sexual Wellness e-Learning" or the Obstetrics and Gynecology Society's "Adolescent Contraceptive Guidance Consultation" at http://goo.gl/dc6PfW.
Hello, based on your description, the chances of pregnancy are not low.

I recommend that you consult a physician for confirmation of pregnancy.

Understanding delayed menstruation and early pregnancy symptoms can be quite complex, especially when various factors come into play. Based on your description, it seems you are experiencing a combination of symptoms and circumstances that could indicate a few possibilities.
Firstly, it is important to note that a delayed menstrual cycle can be caused by various factors, including stress, hormonal imbalances, illness, or even the medications you have taken. In your case, you mentioned having a consistent menstrual cycle prior to this delay, which adds to the concern. The fact that you have had unprotected sexual intercourse raises the possibility of pregnancy, but the use of condoms does reduce that risk significantly.
The symptoms you are experiencing, such as dizziness, nausea, and a feeling of being unwell, could be indicative of early pregnancy, but they could also be attributed to other causes, such as a viral infection or the side effects of the medications you have taken. It is not uncommon for women to experience symptoms like nausea and dizziness during the early stages of pregnancy due to hormonal changes, particularly the increase in human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) levels. However, these symptoms are not exclusive to pregnancy and can occur for other reasons as well.
Regarding your pregnancy tests, it is essential to understand that home pregnancy tests work by detecting the hormone hCG in your urine. If you tested too early, it is possible that your body had not yet produced enough hCG to be detected, which could explain the negative results. The faint line you observed later could indicate a very early pregnancy, but it is also possible that it was an evaporation line, which can occur when a test is read after the recommended time frame.
The bleeding you experienced on April 27 could be a sign of implantation bleeding, which can occur when a fertilized egg attaches to the lining of the uterus. This type of bleeding is usually light and short-lived. However, it could also be the onset of your menstrual period, especially considering the delay you have already experienced.
Given the complexity of your situation, it is advisable to consult with a healthcare provider. They can perform a blood test to measure your hCG levels, which can provide a more definitive answer regarding pregnancy. Additionally, they can assess your symptoms and determine if any further investigation is needed, especially if you continue to experience discomfort or unusual bleeding.
In summary, while there is a possibility that you could be experiencing early pregnancy symptoms, the delayed menstruation and the symptoms you describe could also be due to other factors. It is crucial to seek medical advice for a thorough evaluation and to discuss your concerns regarding potential pregnancy and any implications of the medications you have taken. Early prenatal care is essential for the health of both you and your potential pregnancy, should that be the case.
