Pinpoint red spots?

Hello Doctor, it has been a month since my circumcision, and the wound healing seems to be going well.
However, I occasionally experience a sudden sharp pain in my penis.
Could this be due to incomplete healing? The remaining sensitive area causes some pain when I pull back the remaining foreskin, but compared to before, it is much more comfortable when I hold my penis.
After masturbating yesterday, I noticed a small deep red dot on the tip of the foreskin that looks like a pinhole, but it doesn’t hurt or itch; it only accompanies the sharp pain when I pull back the foreskin.
Is this normal? Could it be due to the more delicate skin? I have also had something that looked like a pimple appear there before, but it disappeared on its own after a few days.
Thank you, Doctor, for taking the time to respond!

Hello, sir: After surgery, it is inevitable to experience some damage to the superficial nerves, and it takes time for the nerves to gradually recover.
As for the issues with the skin in the perineal area, it is difficult to assist through online consultations.
Please visit the outpatient clinic for a personal diagnosis by a physician.

After circumcision, it is not uncommon to experience various sensations and changes in the skin of the penis as it heals. The presence of red pinpoint spots, particularly after a month of recovery, can be concerning, but it is essential to understand the context and the healing process involved.

Firstly, the healing process after circumcision can vary significantly from person to person. While most individuals will experience a gradual reduction in sensitivity and discomfort over time, some may still feel occasional sharp pains or discomfort in the area. This can be due to several factors, including the sensitivity of the newly exposed skin, which may still be adjusting to its new environment. The skin that was previously covered by the foreskin is often more sensitive and may react differently to touch or friction.

The red pinpoint spot you described could be a few things. It might be a normal part of the healing process, especially if it is not accompanied by pain, itching, or discharge. Sometimes, small blood vessels can become more prominent as the skin heals, leading to the appearance of red spots. Additionally, if the area is still sensitive, minor irritation from friction during activities such as masturbation can lead to transient redness or spots.

It is also worth noting that the skin on the glans (the head of the penis) can appear different after circumcision. The transition from being covered to being exposed can lead to changes in texture and color, and it may take some time for the skin to fully adapt. If you previously experienced spots that resembled pimples, these could have been follicular cysts or other benign skin conditions that resolved on their own, which is common.

However, it is crucial to monitor the situation. If the red spot persists, changes in size, or if you experience increased pain, swelling, or any discharge, it would be advisable to consult a healthcare professional. These could be signs of infection or other complications that may require treatment.
In summary, while the presence of a red pinpoint spot after circumcision can be normal, especially during the healing phase, it is essential to remain vigilant. If you have any concerns about the healing process or if symptoms worsen, seeking medical advice is always the best course of action. Regular follow-ups with your healthcare provider can help ensure that your recovery is on track and that any potential issues are addressed promptly.
