Stool with foreign objects attached?
During the holidays, there were no white unidentified substances in my stool.
I didn't have a bowel movement on Monday.
On Tuesday, when I went to the bathroom, I noticed that each piece of stool was covered with many white foreign objects (about 0.2 cm wide).
On Wednesday, I had only a small amount of stool, but it was still covered with many white foreign objects.
The only foods I consumed during these days were bean sprouts and betel flower!

In general, food residue is the most likely cause.
Additionally, parasitic infections cannot be ruled out, although they are now quite rare in clinical practice.
If necessary, a consultation with a gastroenterologist is recommended.

More Info
The presence of unusual white objects in stool can be concerning and may indicate various underlying issues. Based on the information provided, it seems that you have observed white, thread-like substances attached to your stool, particularly after a period of constipation. This situation can arise from several factors, including dietary habits, gastrointestinal health, and even the presence of mucus or other substances.
Firstly, it's essential to understand that the gastrointestinal tract produces mucus, which serves a protective function. Mucus helps to lubricate the intestines and facilitates the passage of stool. Sometimes, an increase in mucus production can occur due to irritation or inflammation in the intestines, which may be a response to dietary changes, infections, or other gastrointestinal conditions. The white, thread-like substances you are observing could potentially be mucus, especially if they appear slimy or gel-like.
In your case, you mentioned that your recent diet consisted mainly of bean sprouts and betel nut flowers. While these foods are generally healthy, any significant dietary change can affect your digestive system. Foods high in fiber, such as bean sprouts, can lead to increased bowel movements and may also stimulate mucus production as your body adjusts to the new diet. If the stool is well-formed and you are not experiencing any pain, bleeding, or other alarming symptoms, it may not be a cause for immediate concern.
However, if the white objects persist or if you experience other symptoms such as abdominal pain, changes in bowel habits, or any signs of gastrointestinal distress, it would be prudent to seek further evaluation. A stool test can help rule out the presence of parasites or infections, and if necessary, a colonoscopy may be recommended to visualize the intestines directly and assess for any abnormalities.
It's also worth noting that the appearance of white, thread-like objects can sometimes be mistaken for parasitic infections, such as pinworms or other intestinal worms. If you suspect this might be the case, it's essential to consult a healthcare professional for appropriate testing and treatment.
In summary, while the presence of white objects in your stool can be concerning, it may not always indicate a serious problem, especially if accompanied by normal bowel habits and the absence of other symptoms. Monitoring your symptoms and maintaining open communication with your healthcare provider is crucial. If you notice any changes or if the situation does not improve, further investigation may be warranted to ensure your gastrointestinal health is intact. Always prioritize a balanced diet and stay hydrated, as these factors significantly influence digestive health.
