Blood sugar issues?
Hello Doctor, I recently purchased a blood glucose meter and found that my fasting blood sugar level is as high as 140 after more than 8 hours of fasting, but my blood sugar level is only 128 two hours after eating.
I have tested this for two consecutive days with the same results.
What could be the issue? The only change in my life is that I haven't had a good night's sleep since giving birth a year ago, as I have to wake up several times during the night.
Could this affect my blood sugar levels? Thank you.

Hello, the values obtained from a simple blood glucose meter may not always be accurate and should be used as a reference for postprandial blood glucose levels.
If the caloric intake of a meal is not high, it is indeed possible for the blood sugar levels to remain low.
I recommend that you test your blood glucose four times a day: before and after breakfast, and before and after dinner.
If you find that more than two readings are too high, you may want to consult a family medicine specialist or an endocrinologist for further evaluation.
