Cryptorchidism surgery
In childhood, there was uncertainty about whether my right testicle had cryptorchidism, so I underwent surgery (the left one is normal).
The doctor sealed my right testicle with the scrotal skin, and recently I noticed that the front and back seem to be switched.
Will this have any impact? Also, I have been feeling somewhat sexually unsatisfied lately, possibly engaging in self-stimulation twice a day.
My left testicle hurts, but the right one has no sensation at all.
It seems that my left testicle is retractable, allowing it to move up and down, and sometimes it rubs against the bone.
Is it normal to have one side hurt while the other does not?

Hello: Regarding what you mentioned about misplacement, I find it unlikely.
Did the physician communicate this to your family? Additionally, excessive DIY activities could potentially cause discomfort in the testicles.
Please be cautious.
As for the left testicle, it seems to be retractile, allowing it to move up and down.
Many people experience this, but it typically resolves with age.
Wishing you good health.

More Info
Cryptorchidism, or undescended testicles, is a condition where one or both testicles fail to move down into the scrotum before birth. Surgical intervention, typically performed during childhood, is aimed at repositioning the undescended testicle into the scrotum, a procedure known as orchidopexy. While this surgery is generally safe and effective, there can be concerns and symptoms that arise post-operatively.
In your case, it appears that there may have been a complication during the surgery, particularly if you feel that the testicles were not positioned correctly. The anatomical placement of the testicles is crucial for several reasons, including temperature regulation, which is necessary for sperm production. If the right testicle has been improperly positioned or if there is any form of obstruction, it could potentially lead to complications such as infertility or testicular atrophy over time.
The sensation of pain in the left testicle, along with the right testicle being numb, raises several concerns. Pain in one testicle while the other is numb could indicate a variety of issues, including nerve damage, improper positioning, or even the development of a condition such as testicular torsion, which is a medical emergency. The fact that you experience a "stretching" sensation in the left testicle, which you describe as being able to move up and down, suggests that it may not be fully anchored in the scrotum, leading to discomfort and potential injury from friction against the surrounding structures.
It is not uncommon for individuals who have undergone surgery for cryptorchidism to experience varying sensations in their testicles. However, the complete lack of sensation in the right testicle is concerning and should be evaluated by a healthcare professional. Nerve damage during surgery can lead to altered sensations, and it is essential to determine whether this is a temporary condition or something more permanent.
Regarding your feelings of sexual dissatisfaction, it is important to consider both physical and psychological factors. The surgical history, along with any discomfort or abnormal sensations, can contribute to anxiety or distress related to sexual performance and satisfaction. It may be beneficial to discuss these feelings with a healthcare provider who specializes in sexual health or urology. They can provide guidance and support, as well as evaluate any physical issues that may be contributing to your concerns.
In summary, it is crucial to seek medical attention to address the following:
1. Assessment of Testicular Positioning: A physical examination and possibly imaging studies may be necessary to determine the current position of your testicles and whether any surgical correction is needed.
2. Evaluation of Pain and Sensation: Understanding the cause of pain in the left testicle and the numbness in the right testicle is essential. This may involve nerve conduction studies or other diagnostic tests.
3. Addressing Sexual Health Concerns: Open communication with a healthcare provider about your feelings of dissatisfaction and any physical discomfort can lead to appropriate interventions or therapies.
Overall, while surgery for cryptorchidism is generally successful, complications can arise, and it is essential to address any ongoing symptoms or concerns with a qualified healthcare professional.
