Regarding masturbation?
I have been masturbating daily since elementary school.
There was a period when I stopped, but I started again and now I almost do it every day.
Sometimes I take a few days off, but I generally stick to the principle of doing it no more than once a day.
Recently, I've intentionally spaced out my sessions to every couple of days, but I feel like it’s not as pleasurable as before.
The firmness doesn’t feel as strong either; although I can still achieve an erection, it’s not very hard and doesn’t feel very pleasurable.
I would like to know if this is due to decreased sensitivity.
Additionally, I have been applying a topical solution to a small wound recently, and I’m wondering if it could be affecting my libido.
I also want to mention that I masturbate with my foreskin, which still covers most of the glans when erect, but I can easily retract it to expose the glans.
I would like to know if this should have any significant impact on my fertility.
Thank you, doctor.

Hello: It will not affect fertility, but excessive masturbation may lead to changes in sexual sensation, which varies from person to person.
As for the ointments or solutions used for treating the urethral opening, they do not affect libido; however, some of these products may impact the appearance of the skin.
Wishing you good health.

Understanding changes in sensation and erection during masturbation can be a complex issue influenced by various physiological and psychological factors. Based on your description, it seems you have been experiencing a decrease in the intensity of pleasure and firmness of erections during masturbation, despite maintaining a regular practice. Let's explore some potential reasons for these changes.
Firstly, it is important to recognize that sexual arousal and response can vary significantly from day to day and can be influenced by numerous factors, including stress, fatigue, hormonal levels, and even diet. If you have recently taken a break from masturbation and then resumed, your body may be adjusting to the change in frequency and stimulation. The sensation of pleasure can diminish if the body becomes accustomed to a certain level of stimulation, leading to a perceived decrease in sensitivity. This phenomenon is sometimes referred to as "sensitization" or "habituation," where the nervous system becomes less responsive to repeated stimuli.
Additionally, the use of topical medications, such as ointments or creams, can also impact sexual function. If you are applying a medication to the genital area, it is possible that the ingredients in the ointment could affect sensitivity or arousal. Some topical medications can cause temporary numbness or altered sensation, which may contribute to the feelings you are experiencing. If you suspect that the medication is affecting your sexual function, it would be wise to consult with a healthcare provider for further evaluation.
Regarding your concern about the appearance of your penis and its potential impact on fertility, it is generally not a significant issue if you can easily retract the foreskin to expose the glans (head) of the penis during sexual activity. As long as there are no signs of infection, irritation, or other complications, this should not hinder fertility. However, if you experience any discomfort, pain, or changes in your sexual health, it is advisable to seek medical advice.
In terms of maintaining sexual health, consider the following tips:
1. Frequency and Variety: Changing the frequency of masturbation or incorporating different techniques can help enhance sensitivity and pleasure. Experimenting with different forms of stimulation may also help rekindle sensations.
2. Physical and Mental Health: Ensure you are managing stress and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. Regular exercise, a balanced diet, and adequate sleep can all contribute to improved sexual health.
3. Communication: If you are in a relationship, discussing your experiences and feelings with your partner can also enhance intimacy and sexual satisfaction.
4. Consultation: If the changes in sensation and erection persist or worsen, it may be beneficial to consult a healthcare professional. They can provide a thorough evaluation and address any underlying issues that may be affecting your sexual health.
In conclusion, changes in sensation and erection during masturbation can stem from various factors, including habituation, the effects of topical medications, and overall physical and mental health. By paying attention to these factors and seeking professional advice when necessary, you can work towards improving your sexual experience and health.
