Medication abortion miscarriage

On November 14, I started bleeding due to a miscarriage.
I returned for a follow-up appointment around late November and confirmed that all the tissue had been expelled.
On November 27, I noticed that there was still blood when I wiped, and it was bright red.
During my follow-up visit, the doctor prescribed medication to stop the bleeding and advised me to start taking supplements like sesame oil chicken, which I have begun to consume.
However, on November 30, I continued to experience bleeding, which was still bright red and had a stringy consistency similar to mucus when I wiped.
Occasionally, I would notice a small amount of blood, but it was not significant.
I would like to ask the doctor why I am still bleeding and why the medication is not effective.
The ultrasound results indicated that everything was normal.
Could this be related to the consumption of sesame oil? What recommendations does the doctor have? I have also stopped drinking the herbal soup.

Post-miscarriage bleeding can be a concerning experience for many women, and understanding the causes and remedies is crucial for both physical and emotional recovery. After a miscarriage, it is common for women to experience bleeding as the body expels the remaining tissue from the uterus. This bleeding can vary in color, consistency, and duration, and it can sometimes lead to confusion and anxiety about whether the body is healing properly.

In your case, it appears that you experienced bleeding starting from November 14, which is typical after a miscarriage. The fact that you had a follow-up appointment on November 20 and were told that the tissue had been expelled is reassuring. However, the continued presence of bright red blood and the mucous-like discharge you described can be concerning. It is essential to understand that while some bleeding can be normal, persistent or heavy bleeding may indicate that there are still remnants of tissue in the uterus or other complications.

The bright red color of the blood suggests that it is fresh and may be coming from the uterine lining. The presence of stringy or mucous-like discharge could be a result of the body’s natural healing process, but it can also indicate that there may still be some tissue that has not been expelled completely. This is why follow-up ultrasounds are critical; they help ensure that the uterus is clear of any remaining products of conception.

Regarding the medications and supplements you are taking, such as the hemostatic agents prescribed by your doctor and the traditional foods like sesame oil chicken, it is important to note that while these may support recovery, they are not guaranteed to stop bleeding. The body often needs time to heal, and the use of certain foods or supplements may not have an immediate effect on bleeding.

If the bleeding persists despite treatment, it is crucial to communicate this with your healthcare provider. They may recommend further evaluation, such as a repeat ultrasound or blood tests to check hormone levels, to ensure that everything is progressing as it should. Additionally, if you experience any signs of infection (such as fever, foul-smelling discharge, or severe pain), you should seek medical attention immediately.

In summary, while some bleeding after a miscarriage is normal, persistent bleeding warrants further investigation. It is essential to maintain open communication with your healthcare provider and to follow their recommendations closely. Your body is undergoing significant changes, and it is vital to give it the time and care it needs to heal properly. If you have any concerns or if the bleeding continues, do not hesitate to reach out to your doctor for further guidance.
