The glans is wrinkled?
Hello Doctor, I would like to ask about my glans.
It appears wrinkled, similar to wrinkles, and sometimes shrinks into a bumpy texture (occasionally).
When I have an erection, it looks smooth.
There are also red spots that resemble goosebumps.
Is this normal? I previously had a urine test, but there was no inflammation.
However, this condition is concerning to me.

Hello: If there are red spots when not erect, it may require a doctor's examination for diagnosis.
As for the glans being wrinkled, many people experience this phenomenon.
Red spots that appear only during an erection are caused by congestion.
Wishing you good health.

When it comes to the appearance of the glans penis, particularly if it appears wrinkled or has a texture resembling small bumps, it is important to understand that variations in the appearance of the skin can be quite normal. The glans, or head of the penis, can exhibit different textures and appearances due to various factors, including natural anatomical variations, skin conditions, and physiological changes.
Firstly, the wrinkling you describe is often a normal characteristic of the glans when it is not erect. The skin on the glans is quite elastic and can appear wrinkled or folded when flaccid. This is similar to how the skin on other parts of the body can appear when not stretched. When you achieve an erection, the skin stretches, and the glans typically appears smooth. This is a normal physiological response and is not usually a cause for concern.
The presence of small red bumps or a texture that resembles "chicken skin" could be a normal variant known as pearly penile papules, which are harmless and common among men. These are small, benign growths that can appear around the corona of the glans and are not associated with any disease or condition. However, if these bumps are new, changing, or accompanied by other symptoms such as pain, itching, or discharge, it would be prudent to consult a healthcare professional for further evaluation.
You mentioned that you have previously undergone a urine test that showed no signs of inflammation. This is a positive indication that there is likely no underlying infection or inflammatory condition affecting your urinary tract. However, if you continue to have concerns about the appearance of your glans or if you notice any changes, it is advisable to seek a consultation with a urologist or dermatologist. They can provide a thorough examination and determine if any treatment or further investigation is necessary.
In summary, while the wrinkled appearance of the glans and the presence of small bumps can be normal, it is essential to monitor any changes and consult a healthcare provider if you have persistent concerns. Regular check-ups and open communication with your healthcare provider can help alleviate worries and ensure your sexual health is maintained.
