Diarrhea and discharge from the penis?

Hello doctor, I have had a habit of masturbation since I was around 12 years old, about twice a week.
I tend to be quite impatient.
I have a twin brother, and during high school, I often rushed through breakfast to catch the bus, while my brother would take his time.
Every morning, I would urge him to eat faster (I wake up at 6:00 AM and finish breakfast around 6:30 AM).
Almost every day, I would run to catch the bus to avoid being late for school, which made me feel very anxious.
This continued until one day during the summer break between my junior and senior years of high school, when I started experiencing diarrhea at a fixed time every morning (around 7:15 AM).
A few days after that, I began to notice some fluid leaking from my penis, which would drip out irregularly.
I consulted a urologist and underwent various tests, including a bladder ultrasound, voiding cystourethrogram, and urodynamic studies, but the doctors told me there was no issue.
Later, I visited a psychosomatic clinic in Taichung, where the doctor prescribed Dobecon and Mocalm S.C.
tablets.
I found that while the diarrhea persisted, the fluid leakage from my penis stopped.
I know that Dobecon is for diarrhea, so I believe that Mocalm S.C.
tablets improved my penile symptoms.
After that, I went to college in Douliu and stopped visiting that psychosomatic clinic.
I consulted another psychosomatic clinic, where the doctor prescribed Sinzac 20 mg.
After taking it for about two months, I noticed a significant improvement in my diarrhea, but the fluid leakage from my penis continued.
I asked the doctor to add Mocalm S.C.
tablets to my treatment to help with my symptoms, and I have been taking them for about three months now.
I would like to ask what my issue might be and why my diarrhea improved while the other symptom did not.

Hello,
Your first issue is diarrhea, which has improved after taking Mocalm S.C.
tablets.
This may be related to your fast-paced lifestyle or tendency to be anxious.
The other issue is that you are experiencing some discharge from the genital area.
However, without testing, it is difficult to determine whether this discharge is urine, blood, semen, pus, or other secretions, making it challenging to address this concern here.
I recommend discussing your current symptoms and treatment options further with your physician to achieve the best therapeutic outcome.

Wishing you all the best,
Xiao Ming-Hong Hospital

Understanding the interplay between physical symptoms and mental health is crucial, especially in cases like yours where gastrointestinal issues and unusual discharge are present. It’s important to approach this from both a medical and psychological perspective.

Firstly, let's address the physical symptoms. Diarrhea can be caused by a variety of factors, including dietary choices, stress, anxiety, and underlying medical conditions. In your case, it seems that the onset of diarrhea coincided with a period of increased stress related to your morning routine and the pressure of getting to school on time. This suggests that your gastrointestinal symptoms may be psychosomatic, meaning they are influenced by psychological factors. Stress and anxiety can lead to increased gut motility, resulting in diarrhea.
The unusual discharge you mentioned could be related to several factors, including hormonal changes, infections, or even anxiety-related hyperactivity of the nervous system. Since you have undergone various medical examinations and tests that have ruled out significant physical issues, it’s possible that this symptom is also linked to your mental state. The fact that the discharge ceased when you started taking certain medications suggests that there may be a connection between your mental health treatment and the physical symptoms you are experiencing.

The medications you have been prescribed, such as Dobecon and Mocalm, are aimed at managing gastrointestinal symptoms and anxiety. Dobecon is typically used to treat diarrhea, while Mocalm is a muscle relaxant that can help alleviate tension and anxiety. The improvement in your diarrhea with the use of Sinzac (an antidepressant) indicates that your symptoms may have a strong psychological component. Antidepressants can help regulate mood and anxiety, which in turn can positively affect gastrointestinal function.

It’s also worth noting that your personality traits, such as being impatient and anxious, may contribute to your physical symptoms. The urgency you feel in your daily routine could be exacerbating your stress levels, leading to a cycle of anxiety and gastrointestinal distress. This is a common issue where the mind and body are interconnected, and stress manifests physically.

To address your concerns about the ongoing discharge, it would be beneficial to continue discussing this with your healthcare provider. They may consider further evaluation or adjustments to your treatment plan. It’s important to communicate openly about all your symptoms, as this will help them understand the full scope of your situation.

In addition to medication, incorporating stress management techniques could be beneficial. Practices such as mindfulness, meditation, and relaxation exercises can help reduce anxiety and improve your overall well-being. Engaging in regular physical activity can also help alleviate stress and improve gastrointestinal health.

In conclusion, your symptoms appear to be closely linked to your mental health and stress levels. It’s essential to continue working with your healthcare providers to find a comprehensive treatment plan that addresses both your physical and psychological needs. Remember, it’s okay to seek help and explore different avenues for managing your symptoms. Your health is a priority, and understanding the connection between your mind and body is a significant step towards achieving balance and well-being.
