Water is coming out from the vagina?

Hello Doctor: A few days ago, I experienced severe diarrhea, with watery stools.
However, I noticed that there was a significant amount of discharge from the vaginal area on one occasion, but it did not happen again.
There was some residue inside the vagina.
The next day, I went to the emergency room, and the doctor said it was just inflammatory discharge.
I initially thought it was nothing serious, but the following morning, after using toilet paper, I noticed more discharge.
I'm unsure what to do.
I have a history of vaginal inflammation, so I am familiar with what inflammatory discharge looks like, and currently, I have no other symptoms of inflammation.
I have not encountered this issue before, and it only arose after experiencing diarrhea due to a cold.
I want to go to the hospital for further examination, but I'm unsure which department to visit.
I'm concerned that the internal structures might be small and that something could be missed, which could lead to complications like peritonitis.
I would like to ask the doctor which department I should consult and how to explain my situation to ensure a thorough examination.
Medical history: 1.
In 2009, I had a prolonged rupture of membranes during pregnancy for over 18 hours, dilated to 4 cm, and ultimately delivered via cesarean section.
2.
History of chronic hidradenitis suppurativa.
3.
Aside from the first point, I have not undergone any other surgeries.

Hello: Based on your situation, it is recommended to seek medical examination from a hospital's obstetrics and gynecology department or colorectal surgery department.
It should be fine to communicate your concerns to your physician in the way you have written.
Additionally, informing your physician about the specific issues you are worried about would be beneficial.
Thank you.

Understanding unusual vaginal discharge after experiencing diarrhea can be concerning, especially for someone with a history of vaginal infections. In your case, the occurrence of discharge following a bout of severe diarrhea raises several points worth discussing.

Firstly, it is important to recognize that gastrointestinal disturbances, such as diarrhea, can sometimes lead to changes in vaginal discharge. This can occur due to a variety of reasons, including alterations in the body's microbiome, dehydration, or even the physical strain of frequent bowel movements. The body’s natural flora, which includes both gut and vaginal bacteria, can be disrupted during episodes of gastrointestinal distress, potentially leading to unusual discharge.

The fact that you experienced a significant amount of discharge from the vaginal area during this time could indicate a few possibilities. It may be related to the inflammation you mentioned, which could be a result of the diarrhea itself or an unrelated vaginal issue. The presence of "杂质" (impurities) you described could suggest a mild infection or irritation, particularly if you have a history of vaginal inflammation. However, since you noted that you do not currently have any discomfort or other symptoms typically associated with infections, this could also be a transient issue.

Given your medical history, including previous vaginal infections and a significant event like a prolonged rupture of membranes during pregnancy, it is prudent to approach this situation with caution. You mentioned that you are considering seeking further medical evaluation, which is a wise decision.
When it comes to choosing the right specialist, you should consider visiting a gynecologist. They are well-equipped to handle issues related to vaginal health and can conduct a thorough examination to determine the cause of your discharge. When you make your appointment, it would be beneficial to clearly communicate your recent health history, including the diarrhea episode, the nature of the discharge, and any previous issues you have had with vaginal infections. You might say something like:
"I recently experienced severe diarrhea, and since then, I've noticed unusual vaginal discharge. I have a history of vaginal inflammation, and I want to ensure that this is not a sign of a more serious issue. I would like to have a thorough examination to rule out any infections or other concerns."
This approach will help the gynecologist understand your situation better and guide them in performing the necessary tests, such as a pelvic exam or cultures, to identify any underlying issues.

In the meantime, maintaining good hygiene is crucial. Ensure that you are using gentle, unscented products for cleansing the vaginal area, and avoid douching, as this can further disrupt the natural flora. Staying hydrated and eating a balanced diet can also support your recovery from diarrhea and overall health.

In summary, while unusual vaginal discharge following diarrhea can be concerning, it is often manageable with proper medical evaluation and care. Consulting a gynecologist is the best course of action to ensure that any potential issues are addressed promptly and effectively.
