Masturbation leading to prostate issues?
Since August of last year, I have been using masturbation as a way to relieve stress.
However, in order to train my endurance, I often intentionally masturbate for an hour without ejaculating (stopping when I feel close to ejaculation and continuing after it subsides).
For almost three months, I have been doing this almost every day for an hour.
In the following four months, I have been masturbating every two to three days.
I recently found out that it is not advisable to keep the prostate constantly engorged.
I also discovered that there are others my age who have experienced prostate enlargement from masturbating five times a day.
With my method of masturbating for an hour each day, I have been continuously engorging my prostate.
Additionally, due to a foot injury, I have been sitting for a year, which has led to a very thin urine stream for over a month and a half.
I also experience a sharp pain during ejaculation, and my semen has turned into a yellow, jelly-like consistency.
I suspect this may be due to prostate enlargement combined with prostatitis.
Doctor, could my method of masturbation, along with prolonged sitting, really lead to prostate enlargement at the age of 19? If so, how should I address this issue?

Based on the symptoms, it is indeed possible that there is an issue with prostatitis.
Benign prostatic hyperplasia should theoretically not be the cause.
It is recommended to visit an outpatient clinic for examination.

Excessive masturbation and its potential impact on prostate health, especially in young men, is a topic that raises many questions. Your concerns about the frequency and method of masturbation, along with the symptoms you are experiencing, warrant a thorough discussion.
Firstly, it is important to clarify that masturbation is a normal sexual activity and, for most individuals, does not lead to significant health issues when practiced in moderation. However, when it becomes excessive, as in your case where you are engaging in prolonged sessions of masturbation almost daily, it can lead to various physical and psychological effects.
1. Prostate Health: The prostate gland is responsible for producing seminal fluid, and it can become congested if not regularly emptied. While there is no definitive evidence that excessive masturbation directly causes prostate enlargement or prostatitis (inflammation of the prostate), prolonged periods of sexual arousal without ejaculation can lead to discomfort and potential issues. Symptoms such as a weak urine stream, pain during ejaculation, and changes in the consistency of semen (like the yellowish, jelly-like consistency you mentioned) can be indicative of prostate issues, including prostatitis or other forms of inflammation.
2. Masturbation Techniques: The technique you described—deliberately delaying ejaculation for extended periods—can lead to increased pressure and congestion in the prostate. This may contribute to discomfort and the symptoms you are experiencing. It is generally advisable to allow for regular ejaculation to help relieve any built-up pressure in the prostate.
3. Urinary Symptoms: The change in your urinary stream and the sensation of pain during ejaculation could be linked to a number of factors, including prolonged sitting due to your foot injury, which can affect pelvic floor muscles and potentially lead to urinary issues. Additionally, if you are experiencing a persistent change in urinary habits or discomfort, it is crucial to consult a healthcare professional for a proper evaluation.
4. Psychological Factors: Engaging in excessive masturbation can also lead to psychological effects, including anxiety about sexual performance and guilt, which may further exacerbate any physical symptoms. It is essential to maintain a healthy relationship with your sexuality and to understand that sexual health is multifaceted, involving both physical and mental well-being.
5. Recommendations:
- Moderation: Consider reducing the frequency and duration of your masturbation sessions. Aim for a more balanced approach that allows for sexual release without excessive strain on your body.
- Physical Activity: Since you mentioned being sedentary due to an injury, try to incorporate gentle physical activity as your condition allows. This can help improve blood circulation and overall pelvic health.
- Hydration and Diet: Ensure you are well-hydrated and maintain a balanced diet, as these factors can influence prostate health.
- Consult a Healthcare Professional: Given your symptoms, it is advisable to seek medical attention. A healthcare provider can perform a thorough examination, possibly including a prostate evaluation, to rule out any serious conditions and provide tailored advice.
In conclusion, while excessive masturbation may not directly cause prostate enlargement, it can contribute to discomfort and other symptoms. It is essential to listen to your body and seek professional help if symptoms persist or worsen. Taking a balanced approach to sexual health, along with addressing any underlying physical or psychological issues, will be key to your well-being.
