Glans issues?
Hello doctor, I have recently noticed that after an erection, blood seems to not flow to the glans, resulting in the glans being small and soft.
However, when I apply pressure to the base of the penis, the glans becomes larger and harder.
Additionally, I have been experiencing a lot of white bubbles when urinating, both in the morning and in the afternoon.
I kindly ask for your clarification.
Thank you!

Understanding glans issues, particularly in men, can be complex and multifaceted. The symptoms you describe, such as the inability to achieve a firm erection in the glans (the head of the penis) and the presence of white bubbles in urine, could be indicative of several underlying conditions.
Firstly, the issue of the glans not receiving adequate blood flow during an erection could be related to vascular health. The penis relies on a complex network of blood vessels to achieve and maintain an erection. If there is any impairment in blood flow, it can lead to a soft or underdeveloped appearance of the glans. Conditions such as atherosclerosis, diabetes, or hypertension can affect blood circulation and may contribute to erectile dysfunction. It is essential to evaluate your cardiovascular health, as these conditions can have broader implications for overall health.
Additionally, the sensation of needing to apply pressure at the base of the penis to achieve firmness in the glans may suggest a potential issue with the erectile tissue or the vascular supply to the area. This could be due to conditions like Peyronie's disease, which involves the development of fibrous scar tissue inside the penis, leading to curvature and possibly affecting blood flow.
Regarding the presence of white bubbles in your urine, this could be a sign of several issues. One possibility is that it may indicate the presence of protein in the urine, a condition known as proteinuria. This can occur due to various reasons, including kidney issues, dehydration, or even urinary tract infections (UTIs). If the bubbles are persistent, it is crucial to consult a healthcare provider for further evaluation. They may recommend a urinalysis to check for protein levels, signs of infection, or other abnormalities.
In terms of solutions, it is vital to address both the erectile issues and the urinary symptoms. Here are some steps you can take:
1. Consult a Urologist: Given the symptoms you've described, a visit to a urologist is essential. They can perform a thorough examination, including blood tests and imaging studies, to assess vascular health and rule out any underlying conditions.
2. Lifestyle Modifications: Improving your overall health can have a significant impact on erectile function. This includes maintaining a healthy diet, engaging in regular physical activity, managing stress, and avoiding smoking and excessive alcohol consumption.
3. Medication: If the issue is determined to be related to blood flow, medications such as phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors (e.g., Viagra, Cialis) may be prescribed to enhance blood flow to the penis.
4. Addressing Urinary Symptoms: If proteinuria or another urinary issue is confirmed, your healthcare provider will guide you on the appropriate treatment, which may include dietary changes, medications, or further testing to evaluate kidney function.
5. Regular Monitoring: Keeping track of your symptoms and any changes can provide valuable information for your healthcare provider. Regular follow-ups can help manage any ongoing issues effectively.
In conclusion, the symptoms you are experiencing warrant a comprehensive evaluation to determine their underlying causes. Early intervention can lead to better outcomes and improve your quality of life. Do not hesitate to seek medical attention, as addressing these issues promptly is crucial for your health and well-being.
