Chest pain issues?
Hello Doctor, I would like to ask about experiencing dizziness and a burning pain in the chest accompanied by heavy and sore arms during masturbation before reaching orgasm.
Although these symptoms only last for a few minutes and subside after stopping and resting, I have encountered this situation during my last two masturbation sessions (about a month apart).
The first time I experienced palpitations, dizziness, and shortness of breath, while this time I had chest pain.
I suspect I have gastroesophageal reflux and elevated blood pressure (130-160/85-100).
I would like to know how I can improve this situation.
Thank you.

Hello, if the symptoms of chest pain and palpitations persist, it is advisable to consult a cardiologist for evaluation.
Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) also requires diagnosis through endoscopy, and confirmation can lead to pharmacological treatment.
Additionally, elevated blood pressure should be managed with antihypertensive medications.

Experiencing chest pain and dizziness during sexual activity, including masturbation, can be concerning and warrants careful consideration. Based on your description, it seems that you are encountering symptoms such as burning chest pain, dizziness, and heaviness in your arms, which can be alarming. These symptoms, especially when they occur during physical exertion or sexual activity, may indicate an underlying issue that should be addressed.
Firstly, it is important to recognize that sexual activity, including masturbation, can lead to increased heart rate and blood pressure due to physical exertion and arousal. If you already have a history of elevated blood pressure (130-160 systolic), this could exacerbate your symptoms. The combination of physical exertion and pre-existing conditions like gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) may contribute to the sensations you are experiencing. GERD can cause chest discomfort that may mimic cardiac pain, especially when lying down or during activities that increase abdominal pressure.
The symptoms you describe—dizziness, chest pain, and heaviness in the arms—could also be related to anxiety or panic attacks, which can occur during sexual arousal or physical exertion. Anxiety can lead to hyperventilation, which may cause dizziness and a sensation of chest tightness. It is essential to consider both physical and psychological factors when evaluating your symptoms.
To address your concerns, here are several recommendations:
1. Consult a Healthcare Professional: Given your symptoms and history of elevated blood pressure, it is crucial to consult a healthcare provider. They may recommend a thorough evaluation, including a cardiovascular assessment, to rule out any serious conditions such as heart disease or arrhythmias.
2. Monitor Blood Pressure: Keep track of your blood pressure readings, especially during times of physical exertion. If your readings remain consistently high, discuss management strategies with your doctor.
3. Lifestyle Modifications: Implementing lifestyle changes can significantly impact your overall health. Consider the following:
- Diet: Adopt a heart-healthy diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats. Reducing sodium intake can help manage blood pressure.
- Exercise: Regular physical activity can improve cardiovascular health and help manage weight. Start with moderate exercises, such as walking or swimming, and gradually increase intensity as tolerated.
- Stress Management: Techniques such as mindfulness, meditation, or yoga can help reduce anxiety and improve overall well-being.
4. Avoid Triggers: If you suspect that certain activities or positions during masturbation trigger your symptoms, consider modifying your approach. Pay attention to your body and take breaks if you start to feel unwell.
5. Hydration and Nutrition: Ensure you are well-hydrated and consider eating a light snack before engaging in sexual activity. Low blood sugar can also contribute to dizziness and weakness.
6. Medication Review: If you are taking any medications for blood pressure or GERD, discuss with your doctor whether they could be contributing to your symptoms.
7. Emergency Plan: If you experience severe symptoms, such as intense chest pain, shortness of breath, or prolonged dizziness, seek immediate medical attention.
In conclusion, while your symptoms may not necessarily indicate a severe underlying condition, they should not be ignored. A comprehensive evaluation by a healthcare professional is essential to ensure your safety and well-being. By addressing both physical and psychological aspects of your health, you can work towards improving your symptoms and enhancing your overall quality of life.
