Can I still get pregnant?
I had intimate contact with my boyfriend on August 1st, but there was no penetration at all.
Later, he ejaculated and wiped himself before touching the area near my vaginal opening.
On August 7th, I bought a pregnancy test that can detect pregnancy in 7 days, and it showed negative.
My period arrived on August 12th, although it was a few days late, it lasted the usual 7 days.
Then, on September 12th, my period came again, lasting the same duration.
However, I was worried about possible pregnancy, so on September 25th, I bought another pregnancy test, which also showed a single line (negative).
My period for October has not arrived yet, but my menstrual cycle is generally irregular, and I have experienced delays of up to a month before.
I would like to ask the doctor if, after two negative tests and two months of regular periods, and considering that the initial pregnancy bleeding typically lasts only one or two days, along with my period lasting 7 days, and currently having no symptoms of morning sickness or breast tenderness, is there still a possibility of being pregnant? I read online that pregnancy tests are quite reliable after a month and a half.

Hello, the chances of pregnancy should be low.
It is always best to take preventive measures beforehand.
If your period is more than a week late, it is advisable to see a gynecologist.
Wishing you good health.

Based on the details you've provided, it seems that you are concerned about the possibility of being pregnant after engaging in intimate behavior with your boyfriend. Let's break down the situation and address your concerns regarding pregnancy risks and the reliability of pregnancy tests.
Firstly, it’s important to understand how pregnancy occurs. Pregnancy typically happens when sperm fertilizes an egg, which usually occurs during ovulation. If you had intimate contact on August 1st without penetration, and your boyfriend did not ejaculate inside you, the risk of pregnancy is significantly reduced. However, there is still a small chance of pregnancy if sperm came into contact with the vaginal area, especially if it was near the time of ovulation.
You mentioned that you took a home pregnancy test on August 7th, which was negative, and your menstrual period started on August 12th, albeit a few days late. This is a good sign that you are likely not pregnant, as a negative test followed by a normal menstrual period usually indicates that pregnancy has not occurred. Home pregnancy tests are generally reliable, especially when taken after a missed period. Most tests can detect pregnancy about a week after a missed period, which is typically around 14 days after ovulation.
You also noted that your menstrual cycles can be irregular and that you have experienced variations in cycle length in the past. Irregular cycles can sometimes lead to confusion regarding ovulation and the timing of your period. However, the fact that you had a normal period in September, along with a negative pregnancy test on September 25th, further supports the likelihood that you are not pregnant.
Regarding the symptoms you mentioned, such as breast tenderness, it is not uncommon for women to experience breast sensitivity or discomfort due to hormonal fluctuations throughout their menstrual cycle. This does not necessarily indicate pregnancy, especially in the absence of other common early pregnancy symptoms such as nausea or missed periods.
In conclusion, based on the information provided, it appears that the likelihood of you being pregnant is very low. You have had two negative pregnancy tests, and your menstrual cycles have returned to what you describe as normal for you. If you continue to have concerns about your menstrual cycle or potential pregnancy, it may be beneficial to consult with a healthcare provider. They can provide further evaluation, including blood tests or ultrasounds if necessary, to give you peace of mind.
It's also worth noting that if you are sexually active and wish to avoid pregnancy in the future, consider discussing reliable contraceptive options with your healthcare provider. This can help you manage your reproductive health more effectively and reduce anxiety about unintended pregnancies.
