Erection without a feeling of engorgement?

In the past, I would feel a noticeable swelling and hardness during an erection (I could "feel" the penis becoming erect).
Now, I have noticed that after stimulation and engorgement, I do not feel the swelling in the penis itself; I have to touch it to realize that I am erect.
Simply put, it feels as if the penis has disappeared or lacks sensation.
I feel normal in my daily life, have a regular diet, do not smoke or drink alcohol, and have a habit of exercising.
I have seen a urologist, but they were unwilling to conduct further detailed examinations, possibly thinking that someone my age shouldn't have any issues.
However, this situation has persisted for almost two years.
Could this be prostatitis, or is it simply kidney deficiency?

Loss of erection sensation can be a concerning issue, and it's important to understand the potential causes and solutions. The sensation of an erection is typically a combination of physical and psychological factors, and a loss of this sensation can stem from various underlying conditions.

One of the most common causes of loss of erection sensation is nerve damage. The penis is richly supplied with nerves, and any injury or condition that affects these nerves can lead to diminished sensitivity. Conditions such as diabetes, multiple sclerosis, or even pelvic surgeries can cause nerve damage. If you have experienced any trauma to the pelvic area or have a history of conditions that affect nerve function, this could be a contributing factor.

Another potential cause is vascular issues. The process of achieving an erection involves increased blood flow to the penis, and any condition that affects blood circulation can impact this process. Conditions like atherosclerosis (hardening of the arteries) or hypertension can lead to reduced blood flow, which may result in a less pronounced sensation during an erection.

Hormonal imbalances can also play a role. Testosterone is a key hormone in male sexual function, and low levels can lead to decreased libido and sensitivity. If you suspect that hormonal issues may be at play, it might be worth discussing this with a healthcare provider who can evaluate your hormone levels.

Psychological factors cannot be overlooked either. Stress, anxiety, and depression can all impact sexual function and sensation. If you have been experiencing increased stress or emotional difficulties, this could be contributing to your symptoms. Sometimes, the mind-body connection can lead to physical symptoms, including changes in sexual sensation.

Regarding your question about prostatitis (inflammation of the prostate), it can indeed cause various sexual dysfunction symptoms, including changes in erection quality and sensation. However, prostatitis typically presents with other symptoms such as pelvic pain, urinary difficulties, or discomfort during ejaculation. If you have not experienced these additional symptoms, it may be less likely that prostatitis is the primary cause.

As for "kidney deficiency," this term is often used in traditional Chinese medicine to describe a range of symptoms related to energy levels and sexual function. While it may not be a recognized medical diagnosis in Western medicine, if you feel that your energy levels are low or if you have other symptoms that concern you, it may be beneficial to discuss these with a healthcare provider.

In terms of solutions, it is crucial to seek a comprehensive evaluation from a healthcare professional. If you feel that your concerns are not being taken seriously, consider seeking a second opinion or consulting a specialist in sexual medicine or urology who can provide a more thorough examination and appropriate tests.
Treatment options may include lifestyle modifications, such as improving diet and exercise, managing stress, or addressing any underlying medical conditions. In some cases, medications or therapies may be recommended to help restore sensation and function.

In conclusion, loss of erection sensation can result from a variety of factors, including nerve damage, vascular issues, hormonal imbalances, and psychological factors. It is essential to seek a thorough evaluation to identify the underlying cause and explore appropriate treatment options. Don't hesitate to advocate for your health and seek the care you need.
