Glans issues
Hello doctor, I am currently in the ninth grade.
I have been masturbating since the seventh grade, sometimes daily and sometimes with a few days in between.
However, as the exam days approach, I tend to do it almost every day.
Will this have any effects? Also, the surface of my glans appears wrinkled for some reason, sometimes even when I am erect.
Additionally, I really dislike having my underwear or pants come into contact with urine, so sometimes after urinating, I use tissue to wipe it off if I feel there are still one or two drops left.
Is this related to the previous issue? If not, how should I address it? I also have something that looks like white pimples under my penis that can be squeezed out, but it’s not much.
What could this be due to?

Hello: 1) Fatigue and unsatisfactory academic performance.
2) It is related to constitution; it doesn't matter, just maintain cleanliness and dryness.
3) Similar to acne; if there are any wounds, be sure to keep them clean to avoid inflammation and infection.
Wishing you good health.

It's completely normal for adolescents to have concerns about their sexual health, including issues related to masturbation, penile appearance, and hygiene. Let's address your questions one by one.
1. Masturbation Frequency: Masturbation is a common behavior among adolescents and can vary significantly from person to person. Engaging in masturbation, whether daily or a few times a week, is generally considered normal and healthy. It can serve as a way to relieve sexual tension, explore one's body, and understand sexual feelings. However, if you find that it interferes with your daily life, responsibilities, or relationships, it might be worth reflecting on your habits. Stressful periods, like exam times, can lead to increased masturbation as a coping mechanism. It's essential to find a balance that works for you.
2. Wrinkled Appearance of the Glans: The appearance of the glans (the head of the penis) can vary due to several factors, including skin elasticity, hydration, and even temperature. When the penis is erect, the skin may appear more stretched, while when flaccid, it can look wrinkled. This is typically normal. However, if you notice any significant changes in color, texture, or if you experience discomfort, it would be wise to consult a healthcare professional.
3. Hygiene Practices: It's good that you are concerned about hygiene. After urination, it’s common for a few drops of urine to remain. Using toilet paper to gently dab the area is a reasonable practice. However, be cautious not to irritate the skin. If you dislike wearing underwear, consider breathable fabrics that can help minimize moisture and irritation.
4. White Bumps on the Penis: The white bumps you describe could be several things. One common cause is sebaceous glands, which are normal and produce oil to keep the skin moisturized. These can appear as small white or yellowish bumps. Another possibility is pearly penile papules, which are harmless and common in many males. However, if these bumps are painful, itchy, or changing in appearance, it’s essential to see a healthcare provider for an accurate diagnosis.
5. General Advice: Maintaining good hygiene is crucial. Regular washing with mild soap and water can help keep the area clean. Avoid using harsh soaps or products that could irritate the skin. If you have ongoing concerns about your sexual health or any specific symptoms, don’t hesitate to reach out to a healthcare professional. They can provide personalized advice and reassurance.
In summary, while it's normal to have questions and concerns about your sexual health during adolescence, it's essential to approach these topics with a balanced perspective. If you ever feel uncertain or anxious about your health, consulting a medical professional can provide clarity and peace of mind. Remember, taking care of your body and understanding its changes is a vital part of growing up.
