Pregnancy test questions?

I would like to ask the doctor, on January 6th, I had protected intercourse with a condom, and there was ejaculation inside the condom.
Afterward, I squeezed the condom and there was no semen leakage.
Additionally, there was only light superficial friction against the hymen, which did not seem to cause significant damage (the process was not very painful).
However, I was under a lot of mental stress because it was my first time, combined with final exams and staying up late.
My menstrual cycle has been irregular, but it has been regular for the past three months, previously occurring between the 12th and 18th of the month.
My period is now delayed by 18 days, and I have taken four pregnancy tests with five different test sticks from three brands.
The last test was on February 1st (26 days after intercourse and 14 days after the missed period), and all five tests showed one line.
Is there still a possibility of pregnancy? If not, how long should I wait before going to a gynecologist for medication to induce menstruation? Thank you.

More Info

When it comes to understanding delayed periods and negative pregnancy test results, it's essential to consider several factors that can influence menstrual cycles and the accuracy of pregnancy tests. Based on the information provided, it appears that you have engaged in protected sexual intercourse, and despite the stress and irregularities in your menstrual cycle, you have consistently received negative results on multiple pregnancy tests.

Understanding the Situation
1. Menstrual Cycle Irregularities: You mentioned that your menstrual cycle has been irregular in the past but has stabilized over the last three months. Stress, particularly from academic pressures like exams, can significantly impact your menstrual cycle. Stress can lead to hormonal imbalances that may delay ovulation or menstruation, resulting in a late period even if you are not pregnant.

2. Pregnancy Testing: You have conducted multiple pregnancy tests, all of which returned negative results. Home pregnancy tests are generally reliable when used correctly, especially after a missed period. The hormone hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin) is what these tests detect, and it typically becomes detectable in urine about a week after a missed period. Given that you tested on the 14th day after your missed period and received negative results, the likelihood of pregnancy is low.

3. Potential Causes for Delayed Period: Besides pregnancy, several factors can cause a delayed period:
- Hormonal Imbalances: Conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) or thyroid disorders can affect your menstrual cycle.

- Lifestyle Factors: Significant changes in weight, exercise habits, or sleep patterns can also disrupt your cycle.

- Medical Conditions: Conditions like endometriosis or uterine fibroids may lead to irregularities in menstruation.

Next Steps
Given that your period is delayed by 18 days and you have had multiple negative pregnancy tests, it is advisable to take the following steps:
1. Wait and Monitor: If your period does not arrive within a week or two, consider taking another pregnancy test. Sometimes, it can take a little longer for hCG levels to rise, especially if the timing of ovulation was irregular.

2. Consult a Healthcare Provider: If your period remains absent after a few weeks, or if you experience other symptoms such as severe pain, unusual discharge, or significant changes in your health, it would be wise to consult a healthcare provider. They can perform a more sensitive blood test for pregnancy and evaluate other potential causes for your delayed period.

3. Consider Lifestyle Adjustments: If stress is a significant factor, consider implementing stress-reducing techniques such as mindfulness, yoga, or regular exercise. Maintaining a balanced diet and ensuring adequate sleep can also help regulate your menstrual cycle.

4. Discuss Medication Options: If you are still experiencing delays after consulting with a healthcare provider, they may discuss options such as hormonal treatments or medications to induce menstruation if necessary.

Conclusion
In summary, while the negative pregnancy tests suggest that you are likely not pregnant, the delay in your period could be attributed to stress or other hormonal factors. Monitoring your symptoms and consulting with a healthcare provider will provide clarity and help you manage your menstrual health effectively. Remember, it is always best to seek professional advice when you have concerns about your reproductive health.
