The testicles feel unusual?

I would like to ask the doctor: I usually have a habit of masturbating, and a few days ago after finishing, I felt a soreness.
The next day, I noticed that my testicles were positioned at different angles (not upright) and I hardly felt any abnormal pain (although there is a slight discomfort).
I would like to know if this is abnormal?

Testicular discomfort can be concerning, and it’s important to understand when to seek medical advice. Based on your description, you are experiencing a sensation of discomfort in your testicles after masturbation, along with a noticeable change in their position. While some degree of discomfort after sexual activity or masturbation can be normal, especially if it involves prolonged or vigorous activity, the symptoms you describe warrant further consideration.

Understanding Testicular Discomfort
1. Normal Post-Masturbation Sensations: After ejaculation, it’s not uncommon for men to experience temporary discomfort or sensitivity in the testicles. This can be due to muscle tension or minor trauma during the activity. However, this discomfort should typically resolve within a short period.

2. Position Changes: The fact that you noticed a change in the angle or position of your testicles is noteworthy. Testicles can shift position due to various factors, including temperature changes, physical activity, or even anxiety. However, if one testicle appears to be positioned differently than the other, it could indicate a potential issue.

3. Pain and Sensation: You mentioned that you feel a slight pain but not significant discomfort. It’s important to differentiate between mild discomfort and pain that is sharp, persistent, or worsening. Mild discomfort may not be a cause for concern, but any significant pain should be evaluated.

When to Seek Medical Advice
You should consider seeking medical attention if you experience any of the following:
- Severe or Worsening Pain: If the discomfort escalates to severe pain, it could indicate a more serious condition, such as testicular torsion or epididymitis.

- Swelling or Redness: Any noticeable swelling, redness, or warmth in the scrotal area can be a sign of infection or inflammation.

- Changes in Size or Shape: If you notice significant changes in the size or shape of your testicles, or if one testicle feels harder or softer than the other, this should be evaluated.

- Accompanying Symptoms: If you experience additional symptoms such as fever, nausea, vomiting, or urinary issues, it’s important to seek medical care promptly.

- Persistent Discomfort: If the discomfort does not resolve within a few days or if it recurs frequently, it would be wise to consult a healthcare professional.

Possible Conditions to Consider
- Testicular Torsion: This is a medical emergency where the spermatic cord becomes twisted, cutting off blood supply to the testicle. It typically presents with sudden, severe pain and requires immediate treatment.

- Epididymitis: This is an inflammation of the epididymis, often caused by infection. Symptoms may include pain, swelling, and sometimes fever.

- Hernia: An inguinal hernia can cause discomfort in the testicular area, especially if there is a bulge or if the discomfort worsens with activity.

- Varicocele: This is an enlargement of the veins within the scrotum, which can cause a dull ache or discomfort.

Conclusion
In summary, while some discomfort after masturbation can be normal, the changes you’ve described—particularly the alteration in the position of your testicles—should not be ignored. It’s always better to err on the side of caution when it comes to your health. If you have any doubts or if your symptoms change or worsen, please consult a healthcare professional for a thorough evaluation. They can provide a proper diagnosis and recommend appropriate treatment if necessary. Remember, your health is paramount, and seeking advice is a responsible step.
