Can I get pregnant?

I've been feeling nauseous upon waking up these past few days.
My menstrual cycle is very irregular; I took menstrual regulation medication for the first three months, but I haven't taken it this month.
My last period was from April 1 to April 5.
On the 23rd of this month, I engaged in mutual touching with my boyfriend, but there was no penetration.
He did have some pre-ejaculate fluid, and I'm not sure if it got on his hands before he touched me.
He only touched my labia and clitoris.
Is there a possibility of pregnancy?

When it comes to the question of whether you can get pregnant from foreplay, it's important to understand the mechanics of conception and the associated risks. Pregnancy typically occurs when sperm fertilizes an egg, which usually happens through vaginal intercourse. However, there are some nuances to consider regarding foreplay and the potential for pregnancy.

Foreplay, which includes activities such as kissing, touching, and oral sex, does not inherently lead to pregnancy. However, if there is any transfer of sperm to the vaginal area, there is a possibility, albeit low, of conception. This can happen if pre-ejaculate fluid (pre-cum) from the male partner contains sperm and comes into contact with the female's vulva or vagina. Pre-ejaculate is a fluid released by the male during arousal, and while it is primarily meant to lubricate the urethra, it can sometimes contain sperm left over from a previous ejaculation.

In your specific situation, you mentioned that there was no penetration, and the contact was limited to the outer areas of the vulva. While the risk of pregnancy from this type of contact is significantly lower than from penetrative intercourse, it is not entirely absent. If your boyfriend had pre-ejaculate fluid on his hands and then touched your vulva, there is a small chance that sperm could have been transferred, leading to the possibility of pregnancy.

Additionally, you noted experiencing nausea upon waking, which can be an early sign of pregnancy. However, it is also important to consider other factors that could contribute to nausea, such as hormonal changes, stress, or even gastrointestinal issues. Since your menstrual cycle has been irregular and you have been taking medication to regulate it, these factors could also be influencing your current symptoms.

If you are concerned about the possibility of pregnancy, the best course of action is to take a home pregnancy test. These tests are designed to detect the hormone hCG (human chorionic gonadotropin), which is produced during pregnancy. For the most accurate results, it is advisable to wait until after your expected period to take the test.

In summary, while the likelihood of becoming pregnant from foreplay alone is low, it is not impossible if sperm is transferred to the vaginal area. If you have concerns about your menstrual cycle or potential pregnancy, consulting with a healthcare provider can provide you with personalized guidance and support. They can help you understand your symptoms, discuss contraceptive options if you wish to avoid pregnancy, and address any other reproductive health questions you may have.
