Pregnant? #150222
I have been experiencing body heat for several days, but my hands and feet are cold.
Is this a sign of pregnancy? I read online that bleeding, either brown or red, about 10 days after intercourse could be implantation bleeding.
However, today I only had a small amount of brown bleeding that stopped.
Could this just be a sign of my period?

Experiencing body heat or changes in temperature can indeed be a sign of pregnancy, but it is essential to understand the context and other accompanying symptoms. When a woman becomes pregnant, her body undergoes numerous hormonal changes, which can lead to an increase in basal body temperature. This rise in temperature is often due to the hormone progesterone, which is produced in higher amounts during pregnancy.
In your case, having a persistent feeling of warmth while experiencing cold hands and feet can be confusing. This phenomenon may be attributed to hormonal fluctuations, increased metabolic rate, or even changes in blood circulation that are common during early pregnancy. However, it is also important to consider other factors that could be influencing your body temperature, such as environmental conditions, stress, or illness.
Regarding the spotting you mentioned, light spotting can indeed occur around the time of implantation, which typically happens about 6 to 12 days after conception. This is known as implantation bleeding and can manifest as light pink or brown discharge. The fact that you experienced a small amount of brown discharge could potentially indicate implantation bleeding, especially if it is accompanied by other early pregnancy symptoms such as breast tenderness, nausea, or fatigue. However, it is also possible that this could be a sign of an impending menstrual period, particularly if you are close to your expected cycle.
If you are concerned about the possibility of pregnancy or if the symptoms you are experiencing are unusual for you, it is advisable to take a home pregnancy test. These tests are most accurate when taken after a missed period. If the test is positive, or if you continue to experience unusual symptoms, it would be prudent to consult with a healthcare provider for further evaluation and guidance.
In summary, while body heat can be a sign of pregnancy, it is not definitive on its own. The combination of symptoms, including the nature of the spotting, will provide a clearer picture. If you suspect you might be pregnant, monitoring your symptoms and seeking medical advice will be the best course of action to ensure your health and well-being.
