Sudden pain during masturbation?

A few days ago, I experienced sudden pain in my penis (internally) while masturbating.
I immediately stopped and rinsed with cold water, which slightly alleviated the symptoms.
However, the next morning, I woke up with an erection, and the same area started to hurt again.
This happened for two consecutive days, so I refrained from sexual activity for two to three days, and the symptoms did not return.
What could this be?

Hello: If there is pain during masturbation, it may be due to excessive force.
If there is pain in a specific area only during an erection, it could indicate some injury; however, severe injuries would typically present with bruising and swelling.
If there are no bruises or swelling, it should heal on its own.
If there is bruising and swelling, medical attention should be sought.
Wishing you good health.

Experiencing sudden pain during masturbation can be concerning and may arise from various causes. It is essential to understand the potential reasons behind this discomfort and when to seek medical attention.

Firstly, the pain you described could be attributed to several factors, including:
1. Physical Injury or Strain: Engaging in vigorous or prolonged masturbation can lead to physical strain or minor injuries to the penile tissue. This can result in localized pain, especially if there was excessive friction or pressure.

2. Peyronie's Disease: This condition involves the development of fibrous scar tissue inside the penis, which can cause pain and curvature during erections. If the pain persists or worsens, it may be worth discussing this possibility with a healthcare provider.

3. Infection or Inflammation: Conditions such as urethritis (inflammation of the urethra) or prostatitis (inflammation of the prostate gland) can cause pain during sexual activity, including masturbation. Symptoms may include burning sensations, discomfort during urination, or unusual discharge.

4. Nerve Irritation: Sometimes, nerve irritation or compression in the pelvic area can lead to pain during sexual activities. This could be due to prolonged sitting, certain physical activities, or even stress.

5. Psychological Factors: Anxiety or stress related to sexual performance or other life factors can manifest physically, leading to discomfort during sexual activities.
Given that you experienced pain specifically during masturbation and noted a reduction in symptoms after a period of abstinence, it may suggest that the issue could be related to physical strain or irritation. The fact that the pain subsided after a few days of refraining from sexual activity is a positive sign, indicating that it may not be a severe underlying condition.

However, if the pain recurs, intensifies, or is accompanied by other symptoms such as swelling, changes in urination, or unusual discharge, it is crucial to seek medical advice. A healthcare provider can perform a thorough examination, possibly including a physical exam and relevant tests, to determine the underlying cause of your symptoms.

In the meantime, consider the following self-care measures:
- Gentle Technique: If you resume masturbation, try using a gentler technique to minimize friction and pressure on the penis.

- Hydration: Ensure you are well-hydrated, as dehydration can sometimes contribute to discomfort.

- Warm Compress: Applying a warm compress to the area may help alleviate discomfort if you experience any residual pain.

- Avoid Irritants: Be cautious with any products (such as lotions or lubricants) that may irritate the skin.

In conclusion, while occasional pain during masturbation can occur and may not always indicate a serious issue, persistent or severe pain should not be ignored. Consulting a healthcare professional will provide clarity and ensure that any potential underlying conditions are addressed appropriately. Remember, sexual health is an important aspect of overall well-being, and seeking help is a proactive step towards maintaining it.
