Injury to the foreskin?

Hello Doctor, I had sexual intercourse with my girlfriend on March 8th and masturbated on March 11th.
After masturbation, I injured the skin on my foreskin.
I do not have phimosis, and the head of the penis can be fully exposed, but there is a small circular O-shaped wound.
It does not hurt or itch now, and there is no ulceration or discharge, but it is red.
The surface feels like it has a layer of hard skin, which I assume is healing skin.
Pressing on it does not cause pain.
I also applied some antiseptic ointment.
There is a small red area in the middle of the penile shaft as well.
Urination is normal, but since the 11th, it has remained slightly red.
Should I let it heal slowly? Thank you.

Whether it's DIY or sexual activity, adequate lubrication is essential to avoid injuries.
Additionally, based on your situation, it seems you should see a urologist.
Do not apply any topical treatments or medications without guidance, as this could lead to more severe skin reactions or infections.

More Info

It sounds like you are experiencing a minor injury to your penis, which can occur due to various reasons, including friction during sexual activity or masturbation. Based on your description, it seems that you have a small circular area of redness on the skin, which is not painful, itchy, or oozing. This is a positive sign, as it indicates that there is likely no severe injury or infection present.

Understanding Minor Injuries to the Penis
Minor injuries to the penis can manifest as redness, swelling, or abrasions on the skin. These injuries are often self-limiting and can heal on their own with proper care. The skin on the penis is sensitive, and minor injuries can occur from activities such as vigorous sexual intercourse, masturbation, or even from friction with clothing.
In your case, the presence of a small red area and a hard layer of skin suggests that your body is in the process of healing. The hard skin you feel could be a scab or a protective layer that forms over the injury as it heals. It's important to avoid any further irritation to the area during the healing process.

Recommendations for Care
1. Keep the Area Clean: Gently wash the area with mild soap and water. Avoid using harsh soaps or scrubbing the area, as this can cause further irritation.

2. Avoid Irritation: Refrain from any sexual activity or masturbation until the area has fully healed. This will help prevent further injury and allow the skin to recover.

3. Moisturize: If the area feels dry, you can apply a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer or a healing ointment like Aquaphor. Avoid using products that contain alcohol or fragrances, as these can irritate the skin.

4. Monitor for Changes: Keep an eye on the injury. If you notice any signs of infection, such as increased redness, swelling, pain, or discharge, it is important to seek medical attention.

5. Patience: Healing can take time, and it’s important to allow your body to recover. Minor injuries typically heal within a week or two, but this can vary depending on the severity of the injury and individual healing rates.

6. Consult a Doctor if Necessary: If the redness persists beyond a couple of weeks, or if you develop any new symptoms, such as pain, swelling, or discharge, it would be wise to consult a healthcare professional for further evaluation.

Conclusion
In summary, it seems that you are dealing with a minor injury that is healing well. Continue to care for the area gently, avoid further irritation, and give it time to heal. If you have any concerns or if the condition worsens, do not hesitate to reach out to a healthcare provider for personalized advice. Taking care of your health is important, and addressing any issues early can help prevent complications.
