Dull lip color?
My lip color is a bit dark, close to black.
Does this indicate poor heart function? I often check my pulse and notice that my heartbeat varies between fast and slow, but I don't feel any discomfort in my heart.
Is this considered arrhythmia? I actually have depression and am seeing a doctor, but I’m unsure if my lack of energy is related to my depression or if it indicates heart problems, or if my depression is causing my heart function to decline.
My body fat percentage is at 25%, and I have to walk a kilometer uphill to school every day since I currently attend Huafan University, which is located on a mountain.
However, I find it difficult to lose weight because my body type naturally tends to gain weight.
Could this lead to heart problems? Please provide some insights, doctor.

According to the classmate's description, there should be no issues with heart function.
The variability in heart rate may warrant a referral to a cardiologist for a 24-hour Holter monitor evaluation.

The concerns you have regarding the dark color of your lips, fluctuating heart rate, and overall health are valid and deserve careful consideration. Dark or discolored lips can be indicative of several underlying health issues, including poor circulation, dehydration, or even anemia. In some cases, it may also reflect the state of your overall health, including potential heart issues. However, it is essential to note that dark lips alone are not a definitive sign of heart problems.
Regarding your heart rate, experiencing fluctuations in heart rate can be a sign of arrhythmia, which is an irregular heartbeat. However, if you are not experiencing any discomfort or pain in your chest, it may not be a cause for immediate concern. Stress, anxiety, and depression can also contribute to changes in heart rate. Given that you have a history of depression, it is possible that your emotional state is influencing your physical health.
Depression can manifest in various physical symptoms, including fatigue, changes in appetite, and even cardiovascular issues. It is not uncommon for individuals with depression to experience a lack of energy or motivation, which can affect their physical activity levels and overall health. Additionally, the stress and anxiety associated with depression can lead to increased heart rate and other cardiovascular symptoms.
Your mention of having a body fat percentage of 25% and the difficulty in losing weight is also relevant. Body composition can impact heart health, and maintaining a healthy weight is crucial for overall well-being. Regular physical activity, such as walking uphill to school, is beneficial, but it is essential to combine this with a balanced diet and proper hydration to support your heart and mental health.
It is commendable that you are already seeking medical help for your depression. Continuing to work with your healthcare provider is crucial, as they can help you navigate the complexities of your physical and mental health. They may recommend lifestyle changes, therapy, or medication to help manage your depression and any related symptoms.
In summary, while dark lips and fluctuating heart rates can be concerning, they are not definitive indicators of heart disease. However, they may be related to your overall health and emotional well-being. It is essential to maintain open communication with your healthcare provider about all your symptoms, both physical and emotional. They can provide a comprehensive evaluation and help you develop a plan to improve your health holistically. Remember, taking care of your mental health is just as important as addressing any physical symptoms you may be experiencing.
