Menstrual and discharge issues?

Hello Doctor, my last menstrual period was on June 3rd, and it has been about a month since then without any signs of menstruation.
I am a bit worried.
Yesterday, when I went to the bathroom and wiped with toilet paper, I noticed a little bit of red in my discharge, which seems to be blood streaks.
I saw the same today, but it only appears when I wipe; my underwear is not stained.
I suspect that my period might be coming soon, but since it has been two days and still nothing, I would like to ask the doctor what this situation might be.
P.S.
I have never engaged in any sexual activity.
Aside from the irregularity in my menstrual cycle and the slight blood streaks in my discharge, I do not feel any discomfort.
Thank you, Doctor!

Menstrual irregularities can be concerning, especially when accompanied by unusual discharge. Based on your description, it seems you are experiencing a delay in your menstrual cycle, which has lasted over a month since your last period ended on June 3rd. The presence of a small amount of blood-stained discharge in your cervical mucus could indicate several possibilities.

Firstly, it is important to understand that menstrual cycles can vary significantly among individuals and can be influenced by a variety of factors including stress, hormonal changes, weight fluctuations, and underlying health conditions. A missed period, especially if it is not accompanied by sexual activity, can sometimes be attributed to hormonal imbalances. Conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), thyroid disorders, or even significant lifestyle changes can lead to irregular cycles.

The blood-tinged discharge you are observing could be related to several factors. It may be a sign that your period is approaching, as some women experience spotting before their menstrual flow begins. This is often referred to as premenstrual spotting and can occur a few days to a week before the actual period starts. However, if this spotting continues without leading to a full menstrual flow, it may warrant further investigation.

Another possibility is that the discharge could be related to ovulation, which typically occurs about two weeks before your next expected period. Some women experience light spotting or changes in discharge during ovulation due to hormonal fluctuations. However, given that you mentioned this has persisted for two days, it is less likely to be solely ovulatory spotting.

Additionally, while you mentioned that you have not engaged in any sexual activity, it is essential to consider that other factors such as infections (like cervicitis or vaginitis) could also cause abnormal discharge. These conditions can sometimes lead to spotting or changes in the consistency and color of vaginal discharge. However, since you have not reported any discomfort or other symptoms, this may be less likely.

Given that you are experiencing a significant delay in your menstrual cycle and the presence of blood-tinged discharge, it would be prudent to consult with a healthcare provider. They may recommend a pelvic examination and possibly some laboratory tests to rule out any underlying conditions. A pregnancy test may also be warranted, even if you believe there has been no sexual activity, as there are rare cases of conception without penetrative intercourse.

In summary, while the irregularity in your menstrual cycle and the spotting could be normal variations, they could also indicate an underlying issue that may require medical attention. It is always best to err on the side of caution and seek professional advice to ensure your reproductive health is monitored and maintained.
