Decreased urine output and erectile dysfunction?
Since around August 25th, my urine output has suddenly decreased significantly; I have only urinated three times during the day, and each time it has been very little.
This situation has continued until now, with most of my urine being yellow and sometimes having a particularly strong odor.
I am someone who is prone to infections and have frequently experienced urinary tract infections in the past.
Is it possible that this is due to an infection? (Earlier in August, I underwent a cystoscopy to drain infected fluid from a cyst inside my body.
The doctor mentioned that it was a cyst that typically regresses in males, but mine has not regressed and is located near the vas deferens.) The last time I masturbated was on August 25th, and it seemed relatively normal.
However, today, September 3rd, during masturbation, my semen suddenly decreased significantly, and my penis did not become erect after ejaculation.
I am really worried; what could this situation indicate?

Hello: You should return for a follow-up appointment.
Currently, your fluid intake should not be less than 2000cc.
If you are sweating a lot, you may need to increase that amount.
Limit sugary drinks and drink more plain water.
Wishing you good health.

Low urine output and erectile issues can be concerning symptoms that may indicate underlying health problems. Based on your description, it seems that you have experienced a significant decrease in urine output since late August, along with changes in the color and odor of your urine. Additionally, you have noted a reduction in the volume of semen during ejaculation and difficulties with erectile function.
Firstly, let's address the low urine output. A decrease in urine production can be attributed to several factors, including dehydration, urinary tract infections (UTIs), or potential obstructions in the urinary tract. Given your history of urinary tract infections and recent bladder surgery, it is plausible that an infection could be contributing to your symptoms. Infections can lead to inflammation and irritation of the bladder and urethra, which may affect your ability to urinate normally. The presence of concentrated, dark yellow urine with a strong odor can also indicate dehydration or a possible infection, as concentrated urine typically occurs when the body is trying to conserve water.
You mentioned that you have a history of urinary tract infections, which can lead to complications if not treated properly. If you suspect an infection, it is crucial to seek medical attention. A healthcare provider may recommend a urinalysis and urine culture to identify any bacterial infection and determine the appropriate treatment, which may include antibiotics.
Regarding your erectile issues, it is important to understand that erectile dysfunction (ED) can be caused by various factors, including psychological stress, hormonal imbalances, or physical conditions affecting blood flow. The fact that you experienced a decrease in semen volume and erectile function after a period of low urine output raises concerns about potential underlying issues, such as hormonal changes or vascular problems.
The relationship between urinary function and erectile health is complex. The two systems are interconnected, and issues in one can affect the other. For instance, conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, or prostate problems can impact both urinary and erectile function. Additionally, psychological factors such as anxiety or stress related to your symptoms may also contribute to erectile dysfunction.
Given your recent surgical history and the changes you are experiencing, it is essential to consult with a healthcare professional who specializes in urology or men's health. They can perform a thorough evaluation, including a physical examination and possibly additional tests, to determine the underlying cause of your symptoms.
In the meantime, consider the following recommendations:
1. Stay Hydrated: Ensure you are drinking enough fluids throughout the day to prevent dehydration, which can exacerbate low urine output.
2. Monitor Symptoms: Keep track of any changes in your urinary habits, such as frequency, color, and odor, as well as any changes in erectile function.
3. Avoid Irritants: Limit the intake of caffeine, alcohol, and spicy foods, as these can irritate the bladder and worsen urinary symptoms.
4. Seek Medical Attention: Given your symptoms and medical history, it is advisable to see a healthcare provider as soon as possible for a comprehensive evaluation.
In summary, the combination of low urine output and erectile issues warrants a thorough investigation to identify any underlying causes. Prompt medical attention can help address these concerns and improve your overall health and well-being.
