Gastric ulcer issues?


Hello Doctor, I recently went to the hospital for an upper gastrointestinal endoscopy, and it was confirmed that my persistent upper abdominal pain was caused by a gastric ulcer.
However, the doctor mentioned that my ulcer has already formed a scar.
What does this mean? Does scarring indicate that it has healed? He also mentioned that I have some inflammation and reflux in my stomach, and the biopsy for Helicobacter pylori has not yet come back.
I would like to ask, can patients with gastric ulcers take whey protein? I have been working out and need to supplement my protein intake, but I am concerned that the artificial sweeteners in whey protein might negatively affect the healing of my ulcer.
Additionally, how long does it typically take to treat a gastric ulcer? I have been in pain for over a month now.
