Redness of the urethral opening and glans penis?

I had redness and swelling at the urethral opening last time, but the doctor said it was normal.
My symptoms are quite similar to those of case 154834, with small spots and a very uneven, bumpy appearance on the surface of the glans.
The first image shows how it looks after showering when there is a physiological response.
I would like to know if this is due to dryness or a fungal infection, and should I consider seeing another doctor?

Redness at the urethral opening and glans can be concerning and may arise from various causes. It’s important to understand the potential reasons behind these symptoms and when to seek further medical evaluation.

1. Possible Causes: The redness and irregular texture you describe could be attributed to several factors:
- Irritation: This can occur due to excessive moisture, soap, or other irritants that come into contact with the genital area. If you are using scented soaps or body washes, consider switching to a mild, unscented product.

- Fungal Infections: Conditions like candidiasis (yeast infection) can cause redness and a rough texture on the glans. This is more common in individuals who are uncircumcised, as the moist environment under the foreskin can promote fungal growth.

- Bacterial Infections: Bacterial infections can also lead to inflammation and redness. Conditions such as balanitis (inflammation of the glans) may present with similar symptoms.

- Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs): Certain STIs can cause redness and irritation in the genital area. If you have had unprotected sexual contact, it may be prudent to get tested.

- Dermatological Conditions: Conditions like psoriasis or eczema can affect the genital area, leading to redness and changes in texture.

2. Assessment: If the redness is accompanied by other symptoms such as itching, discharge, pain during urination, or if it persists despite good hygiene practices, it is advisable to seek medical attention. A healthcare provider can perform a physical examination and may recommend tests to determine the underlying cause.

3. When to Change Doctors: If you feel that your concerns are not being adequately addressed or if you are not satisfied with the explanations provided by your current doctor, it is perfectly reasonable to seek a second opinion. A different healthcare provider may offer new insights or treatment options that could be beneficial.

4. Self-Care Recommendations:
- Maintain good hygiene by gently cleaning the area with mild soap and water.

- Avoid irritants such as scented products or harsh soaps.

- Allow the area to dry completely after bathing to prevent moisture buildup.

- If you suspect a fungal infection, over-the-counter antifungal creams may provide relief, but it’s best to consult a doctor before starting any treatment.

5. Monitoring Symptoms: Keep track of any changes in your symptoms. If the redness worsens, or if you develop new symptoms, it’s important to follow up with a healthcare provider promptly.

In summary, while redness at the urethral opening and glans can be due to benign causes, it is essential to monitor the symptoms and seek medical advice if they persist or worsen. A thorough evaluation by a healthcare professional can help determine the appropriate diagnosis and treatment plan.

It sounds like there are no issues. I recommend: 1. Avoid wearing tight or hot clothing around the pelvis. 2. Clean only with water and dry with a hairdryer. Do not let the glans come into contact with any chemical substances. Try this for a period of time.
