Can I get pregnant?
The last time we had intercourse was at the end of April, and my girlfriend's period started on May 6.
We did not have sex during May, and her period is normally due by June 10 (based on her cycle).
However, it is now June 12, and she still hasn't gotten her period.
Is it possible that she is pregnant? (She is feeling very stressed about this.) At the beginning of June, she mentioned feeling the usual signs that her period was coming (breast tenderness and increased discharge), but it still hasn't arrived.
Additionally, on the 11th, she had a small amount of bleeding (just a little).

It's advisable to take a pregnancy test! Currently, the test kits are very sensitive, so you should have a clear result soon.
There are many reasons for menstrual irregularities, so maintaining a regular routine is very important.

When considering the possibility of pregnancy, especially in the context of irregular menstrual cycles, it is essential to evaluate several factors, including the timing of sexual intercourse, the regularity of menstrual cycles, and any accompanying symptoms. In your case, your girlfriend had sexual intercourse at the end of April and experienced her menstrual period starting on May 6. Given that her cycle is typically around 30 days, her next expected period would be around June 6. However, since she has not had her period by June 12, there is a possibility of pregnancy, especially if her cycles are irregular.
Irregular periods can be caused by various factors, including stress, hormonal imbalances, changes in weight, and underlying health conditions. Stress, in particular, can significantly impact the menstrual cycle, leading to delayed or missed periods. Your girlfriend's feelings of pressure and anxiety regarding the possibility of pregnancy could also contribute to her irregular cycle.
The symptoms your girlfriend is experiencing, such as breast tenderness and increased vaginal discharge, are common premenstrual symptoms but can also be early signs of pregnancy. The slight bleeding she experienced on June 11 could be implantation bleeding, which occurs when a fertilized egg attaches to the lining of the uterus. However, it could also be a sign of an approaching period or other hormonal fluctuations.
To determine whether she is pregnant, the most reliable method is to take a home pregnancy test. These tests measure the levels of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG), a hormone produced during pregnancy. It is advisable to wait a few days after the missed period for the most accurate result, as hCG levels increase significantly during early pregnancy.
If the home pregnancy test is positive, it is essential for her to schedule an appointment with a healthcare provider for confirmation and to begin prenatal care. If the test is negative and her period does not arrive, it may be beneficial for her to consult with a healthcare professional to explore the reasons behind her irregular cycles and any other symptoms she may be experiencing.
In summary, while there is a possibility of pregnancy given the circumstances, the best course of action is to take a pregnancy test and consult with a healthcare provider for further evaluation. It is also important for your girlfriend to manage her stress levels, as this can have a significant impact on her menstrual health. Regular check-ups and open communication with a healthcare provider can help address any concerns and ensure her overall well-being.
