Unidentified mass or lesion?
Hello doctor, I have a small bump on the dorsal side of my penis, about 2 centimeters below the coronal sulcus, near the side of the testicles.
It is somewhat translucent, can be moved slightly, and does not cause pain when pressed.
I usually clean it with plain water and maintain proper hygiene.
I masturbate approximately once a day and have never had sexual intercourse.
I have researched and found that it could possibly be penile sclerosing lymphangitis, but I'm not sure.
I hope you can help clarify this and provide some related management options.
Thank you.
🙏

Hello: The information provided here is for reference only.
A diagnosis should be made through a medical examination, as it could potentially be a cyst.
If it is a cyst, it generally does not require treatment.
It is recommended to consult a urologist at a hospital for further evaluation.
Penile sclerosing lymphangitis is very rare.
Wishing you good health.

When it comes to unidentified bumps on the penis, particularly in the area you described, there are several potential causes to consider. Based on your description of a small, movable, slightly transparent bump located about 2 cm below the corona of the penis, it is important to approach this situation with careful consideration of various possibilities.
One common cause of such bumps is a condition known as a sebaceous cyst. These are benign lumps that can occur when sebaceous glands become blocked. They are usually painless, movable, and can appear translucent or skin-colored. Sebaceous cysts are generally harmless and do not require treatment unless they become infected or bothersome.
Another possibility is a condition called pearly penile papules, which are small, benign growths that can appear around the corona of the penis. They are typically small, white, or skin-colored, and are not associated with any pain or discomfort. Pearly penile papules are a normal anatomical variation and do not require treatment.
You also mentioned the possibility of penile lymphangitis, which is an inflammation of the lymphatic vessels in the penis. This condition can occur due to various reasons, including trauma or infection. However, lymphangitis usually presents with additional symptoms such as pain, swelling, or redness, which you have not described.
Given that you have not engaged in sexual intercourse and maintain good hygiene practices, the likelihood of sexually transmitted infections (STIs) causing the bump is lower, but it is still a consideration. STIs can sometimes present with bumps or lesions, so if you notice any changes in the bump, such as increased size, pain, or the appearance of additional lesions, it would be prudent to seek medical evaluation.
In terms of management, if the bump is not causing any discomfort or concern, observation may be a reasonable approach. However, if you experience any changes or if the bump becomes painful, it is advisable to consult a healthcare professional for a thorough examination. A urologist or dermatologist can provide a definitive diagnosis and discuss potential treatment options if necessary.
In summary, while the bump you described could be a benign condition such as a sebaceous cyst or pearly penile papules, it is essential to monitor it for any changes. If you have any concerns or if the bump causes discomfort, seeking medical advice is the best course of action. Regular self-examination and awareness of your body can help you notice any changes early on, allowing for timely intervention if needed. Always prioritize your health and well-being, and do not hesitate to reach out to a healthcare provider for peace of mind.
