Angle of movement after erection?
After I achieve an erection, my penis is generally straight but naturally tilts to the right side.
When I grasp the penis, I can bend it to the right until it touches my thigh, but bending it to the left only allows for a slight curve beyond the straight position; any further bending gives a sensation as if it might break.
There are no issues during sexual intercourse, but I worry that one day my girlfriend might grab it and shake it, potentially causing an injury...
(Of course, I have explained this issue to her, so it should not happen...).
I would like to know if this is a normal phenomenon or if there is a need for treatment, as it has not affected my life, and I have left this issue unaddressed for a long time.

Understanding natural penis curvature is a common concern among men, and it is important to distinguish between what is considered normal and when it might warrant medical attention. Based on your description, it seems that your penis has a natural curvature to the right when erect, while the left side has limited flexibility and causes discomfort when attempting to bend it further.
Firstly, it is essential to recognize that some degree of curvature in the penis is entirely normal. Many men experience a slight bend or curve, which can be attributed to the natural anatomy of the penis, including the distribution of erectile tissue and the tunica albuginea, the fibrous sheath surrounding the erectile bodies. This curvature can be influenced by various factors, including genetics, hormonal influences during development, and even the way the penis is used during sexual activity.
In your case, since you mentioned that the curvature does not cause pain during sexual activity and does not interfere with your sexual function, it is likely that this is a normal anatomical variation. However, it is crucial to monitor any changes in curvature or the onset of pain, as these could indicate underlying conditions such as Peyronie's disease. Peyronie's disease is characterized by the development of fibrous scar tissue inside the penis, which can lead to significant curvature, pain, and difficulties with sexual intercourse.
If the curvature remains stable and does not cause discomfort or functional issues, there may be no need for treatment. However, if you experience any of the following symptoms, it would be advisable to consult a healthcare professional:
1. Pain during erection or sexual activity: If you begin to experience pain, it could indicate an underlying issue that needs to be addressed.
2. Progressive curvature: If you notice that the curvature is becoming more pronounced over time, this could be a sign of Peyronie's disease or another condition.
3. Difficulty achieving or maintaining an erection: Changes in erectile function can be a sign of other health issues that may need evaluation.
4. Psychological distress: If the curvature is causing you significant anxiety or affecting your self-esteem or relationships, discussing these feelings with a healthcare provider or a therapist may be beneficial.
In terms of treatment, if it is determined that the curvature is due to Peyronie's disease or another medical condition, options may include medications, injections, or surgical interventions, depending on the severity and impact on your quality of life.
In conclusion, a slight natural curvature of the penis is generally normal and not a cause for concern, especially if it does not affect your sexual function or cause pain. However, staying vigilant for any changes and maintaining open communication with your partner about your concerns can help alleviate anxiety. If you have any doubts or experience new symptoms, seeking advice from a urologist or healthcare provider is always a good step to ensure your sexual health and well-being.
