Hello Doctor, I would like to ask about my recent work experience.
My boss required us to use industrial heptane for product cleaning for about 8 hours.
During this time, I wore latex gloves, but they kept becoming brittle and tearing, so I had to change them frequently.
I was only wearing a regular medical mask.
Currently, I have mild localized itching on my skin (not severe) and slight redness in my eyes.
What concerns me more is that I experienced fatigue and drowsiness during the latter part of my shift, to the point where I was almost dozing off (I had sufficient sleep the night before).
Over the next two days, I slept for more than 12 hours each day (usually, I wake up naturally after about 6 hours on weekends).
Now, I also have mild itching in various small areas of my skin, and I am worried whether this could be due to chemical solvent exposure.
