I have been experiencing palpitations?
Hello Doctor, I am 21 years old and weigh 175 kg.
I would like to ask about my pulse, which usually ranges between 70-80 beats per minute.
Recently, I have noticed that my chest visibly beats in sync with my heartbeat (without any discomfort), and whenever I lie down, whether flat or on my side, I can constantly hear my heartbeat.
Sometimes, I even feel a slight movement in my body.
Over the past few days, I have started to feel that my entire body is trembling while lying down, but when I touch my body, only my chest is pulsating, and my pulse remains steady between 60-70 beats per minute without any irregularities.
Additionally, while lying down, I occasionally feel like I can't breathe through my nose (I do not have a history of nasal allergies).
I have also been having trouble sleeping at night, often waking up suddenly.
I feel a strong pulsation in the area between my collarbones.
I am very worried that there might be an issue with my heart, but due to the current pandemic, it is inconvenient to go to the hospital, so I am seeking your advice here.
Thank you, Doctor.

It's actually quite normal to see your heartbeat; you might be feeling anxious, which can lead to some panic symptoms.
This doesn't sound like a heart issue.
It would be best to observe the situation for now.

It's understandable to feel anxious about your heart health, especially when experiencing symptoms like palpitations, muscle tremors, and difficulty breathing. At 21 years old and with a weight of 175 kg, it's important to consider both physical and psychological factors that could be contributing to your symptoms.
Firstly, the sensation of your heart beating strongly or being able to hear your heartbeat when lying down can be quite common, especially in individuals who may be more aware of their body sensations due to anxiety or stress. This heightened awareness can lead to a cycle of worry, where the more you focus on your heartbeat, the more you notice it, which can exacerbate feelings of anxiety.
The fact that your pulse remains regular (60-70 beats per minute) is a positive sign. Irregular heartbeats or arrhythmias can be concerning, but a consistent pulse is generally reassuring. However, if you experience any sudden changes in your heartbeat, such as it becoming irregular or significantly faster, it would be wise to seek medical attention.
The muscle tremors you describe could be related to anxiety or stress. When the body is under stress, it can lead to muscle tension and involuntary movements. This is often accompanied by other symptoms such as difficulty breathing or feeling lightheaded. The sensation of not being able to breathe through your nose could also be related to anxiety, as stress can lead to hyperventilation or changes in breathing patterns.
Sleep disturbances, such as waking up suddenly and feeling anxious, are also common in individuals experiencing heightened stress or anxiety. It's crucial to establish a calming bedtime routine to help improve your sleep quality. Techniques such as deep breathing exercises, mindfulness, or progressive muscle relaxation can be beneficial in reducing anxiety and promoting better sleep.
Given the current pandemic situation, it may be challenging to visit a healthcare provider in person. However, many healthcare facilities now offer telehealth services, which could be a convenient way for you to discuss your symptoms with a doctor without needing to go to a clinic. They can provide a thorough evaluation and may recommend further tests if necessary.
In the meantime, consider implementing lifestyle changes that can help alleviate anxiety and improve your overall well-being. Regular physical activity, a balanced diet, and adequate hydration can significantly impact your physical health and mood. Additionally, reducing caffeine and alcohol intake can help minimize anxiety symptoms.
If your symptoms persist or worsen, or if you experience any new symptoms such as chest pain, shortness of breath, or fainting, it is essential to seek medical attention promptly. Your health is important, and addressing these concerns with a healthcare professional can provide you with peace of mind and appropriate care.
In summary, while your symptoms may be concerning, they could be related to anxiety rather than a serious heart condition, especially given the regularity of your pulse. However, do not hesitate to reach out for professional help if you feel overwhelmed or if your symptoms change. Taking proactive steps to manage your anxiety and seeking support can greatly improve your quality of life.
