I would like to inquire about the chances of pseudomenstruation and pregnancy?
My menstrual cycle is usually regular, about 33-37 days, but I haven't had a period since July 11 (I have never experienced missed periods before).
I had very light brown spotting on July 26-27 and August 20-22, which only required one panty liner for the whole day.
Could this be considered a false period or a normal menstrual cycle? On July 12, July 24, and August 14, I engaged in intimate activities with my boyfriend, but I am unsure if he cleaned his hands properly after handling semen.
I have never had sexual intercourse or any experience with genital contact, so I initially didn't think much about my missed period.
However, after learning that a false period could be a sign of pregnancy, I became very concerned about my situation.
(Aside from a slight weight gain and the light spotting resembling a false period, I have no other symptoms of pregnancy.) I used a pregnancy test on September 16, both in the afternoon and evening, which showed negative results, but I am still very worried.
I would like to ask the doctor if there is a possibility of pregnancy in my case.
Thank you, doctor!

More Info
Understanding your concerns regarding pseudomenstruation and the possibility of pregnancy is essential, especially given your unique situation. Based on the information you've provided, let's break down the key points and clarify your doubts.
Firstly, the term "pseudomenstruation" typically refers to light bleeding that can occur in early pregnancy, often mistaken for a menstrual period. This bleeding can happen due to hormonal changes as the body adjusts to pregnancy. However, in your case, the brownish discharge you experienced on July 26-27 and August 20-22 could also be attributed to other factors, such as hormonal fluctuations or even ovulation spotting, especially since you mentioned that your menstrual cycle is usually regular.
Given that you have not had a period since July 11 and considering the light brown discharge, it is understandable to be concerned about the possibility of pregnancy. However, the fact that you have engaged in non-penetrative sexual activity (i.e., only manual stimulation) significantly reduces the likelihood of pregnancy, especially if there was no direct contact with semen. Sperm typically needs to be deposited in the vaginal canal for conception to occur, and while it is theoretically possible for sperm to be transferred through hands, the chances are quite low.
You mentioned using a pregnancy test on September 16, which showed a negative result. Home pregnancy tests are generally reliable when used correctly, especially after a missed period. If you followed the instructions and tested after your expected period date, a negative result is a strong indication that you are not pregnant.
However, if your period does not return or if you continue to experience unusual symptoms, it may be wise to consult a healthcare professional for further evaluation. They can perform a blood test for pregnancy, which is more sensitive than home tests, and can also assess any underlying issues that may be affecting your menstrual cycle.
In terms of your emotional state, it is completely normal to feel anxious about potential pregnancy, especially when you are not fully aware of your body's changes. Stress and anxiety can also impact your menstrual cycle, potentially causing delays or irregularities. Therefore, managing stress through relaxation techniques, exercise, or talking to someone you trust can be beneficial.
To summarize, while the light brown discharge could be concerning, the likelihood of pregnancy from the activities you described is low, especially given the negative pregnancy test result. If your period does not resume or if you have further concerns, seeking medical advice is the best course of action. Remember, your health and peace of mind are paramount, and a healthcare provider can offer the reassurance and support you need during this time.
