Erect length?
Hello Doctor: My foreskin almost completely covers the glans when flaccid, but there is a narrow opening, so it doesn't cover it entirely.
When erect, a significant portion of the glans is exposed, but it is not fully uncovered.
Do I need a circumcision? Additionally, my flaccid length is about 7 cm, and my erect length is about 12 to 13 cm.
Is this length considered normal?

Hello: If the foreskin gets stuck around the glans after an erection, it is advisable to see a doctor to determine if surgery is necessary.
If the foreskin is loose after an erection, then surgery is not needed.
As for the length, it is normal.
Wishing you good health.

More Info
When considering the need for circumcision and understanding penile length changes, it is essential to evaluate both the anatomical and functional aspects of the penis, as well as the individual’s personal comfort and health considerations.
Based on your description, it appears that your foreskin partially covers the glans (the head of the penis) when flaccid but retracts significantly during an erection. This is a common anatomical variation and does not necessarily indicate a need for circumcision. The key factors to consider include:
1. Hygiene: If you can maintain proper hygiene without discomfort or difficulty, then circumcision may not be necessary. However, if you experience issues with cleaning under the foreskin or recurrent infections, circumcision might be recommended.
2. Phimosis: This condition occurs when the foreskin cannot be retracted fully over the glans. If you can retract your foreskin without pain or difficulty, this is not an issue. If you experience pain or difficulty during retraction, it may be worth discussing with a healthcare provider.
3. Sexual Function: Your reported erectile length of approximately 12-13 cm is within the average range for adult males, which typically falls between 12-16 cm when erect. The flaccid length of about 7 cm is also considered normal. Variations in size are common, and as long as you do not experience pain or discomfort during sexual activity, this is generally not a concern.
4. Personal Preference: Some individuals choose circumcision for cultural, religious, or personal reasons. If you feel strongly about the procedure for any reason, it is worth discussing with a healthcare provider.
5. Medical Advice: It is crucial to consult with a urologist or healthcare provider who can assess your specific situation. They can provide personalized recommendations based on your anatomy, any symptoms you may have, and your overall health.
In summary, based on the information provided, it does not seem that circumcision is necessary unless you have specific concerns regarding hygiene, phimosis, or personal preference. Your penile length measurements are within the normal range, and as long as you are comfortable and healthy, there may not be a need for surgical intervention. Always consult with a healthcare professional for tailored advice and to address any concerns you may have.
